Been playing FF7 Rebirth all day so far, I finished up the Nibelheim chapter and now I’m revisiting all the old areas to hit all the new side quests and Queen’s Blood challengers that opened up in them afterwards. Now I’m switching to FF V Pixel Remaster, I started it for the first time (for any version of the game) yesterday and played it for nearly 6 and a half hours in one sitting lol, looking forward to continuing.

I’m not doing anything especially big-brained I’m sure but I’m enjoying the setup I’ve got now with Bartz as a ninja with black magic, Lenna as a time mage with white magic, Faris as a berserker with the knight’s two-handed skill, and Galuf is doing so much damage as a monk that I’ve just had him as a pure monk since I unlocked the job system. I was interested in making Bartz a beast master but it’s hard to get a monster’s health low enough to capture without outright killing them, maybe I’ll give it a shot again after a difficulty spike.

time magic has some spells that can help with !Catch I think, but I don't tend to use it a ton. things have to be down to 1/8th of their HP for it to work

yeah you can get some of the gravity spells through time magic that'll reduce hp, missile from blue magic reduces enemies to hp critical if it hits too i think. you'll get an accessory (kornago gourd i think?) that'll make catching enemies easier

And yeah, blue magic helps a lot, although FF5 is probably the worst game for getting blue magic (it has to actually hit which can be super annoying for stuff like L5Doom).

Baroque on PSX is quite the insane game Imagine Kings Field x Shiren the Wanderer with, and I don't mean this lightly, the most batshit crazy plot I've ever seen in a game lol within 5 minutes you are given an assault rifle filled with the souls of tortured children to shoot and kill God, who was found off the coast of japan... lmao
