K. Flaps posted:What's some good sake you can buy at a normal store or amazon here in the west. Trader Joes sells a very palatable Junmai Ginjo for $10. Drink it chilled. Sake has mediocre shelf life and gets taxed to hell and back so the domestic stuff is worth trying, particularly Momokawa. You can usually find it at your local Bevmo. Nigori is cloudy unfiltered sake - I like Hakutsuru Sayuri, which is light and refreshing, and Momokawa Pearl, which is creamy and sweet. Pay attention to serving instructions - all but the really cheap stuff is typically served chilled or at room temp rather than warm.
