You joke about that, but I've got a save with all three monuments (on one island, even), massive investment in the Tech sector, and the resources to make p. much anything that doesn't call for a special prototype. And even when it comes to that, I have a Dam blueprint raring to go.

No, I had a chest cold last week and made the mistake of trying to learn Adobe Premiere at the same time, trying to streamline the edits in the forthcoming episode a little more gracefully (there's a lot). Going from a janky, four-free-application setup to one huge, professionally featured app has been a challenge, to say the least. But we should be on target for an update on Wednesday, I hope.

Edit: Besides, I finished MGSV's plot yesterday so now I should have a lot of time for editing :v:

I joke because when I finally understood the system that was one of the first things I did way back when. Complete with making a giant stack of Alwinic Anions when they added a prototype cost to the Dam Blueprint but before they fixed the ARK dupe bug. I really should keep a separate save for when I want to create a new set though.

I really can't wait until you get to showing off academy upgrades because I've got...well I can make some pictures that show off just how silly certain buildings become when you get 2 or 3 upgrades on them. Suddenly Coal Power becomes a LOT more friendly ecologically when each plant is producing 195% power for the same amount of coal, have had their maitenance/eco cost slashed, and are being fed by coal rotors that also had their eco impact halved and are depleting the island's resources 30% slower (i.e.: generating free coal from nothing).

Of course it still has to compete with offshore wind which is absolutely hilarious.

If I recall correctly, it reduces it so much that you can build them adjacent to each other, i.e. eliminating the penalty altogether.

Most buildings with a minimum spacing have similar items that reduce the radius, if I recall properly. But yeah, the offshore windparks are probably one of the big winners for this since they have a small radius to start with, and you don't really have a choice but to build a whole bunch when playing with the Ecos.

Yup, when you upgrade stuff with an exclusion radius the radius gets smaller. For example, here are offshore wind parks with the level 2 and 3 upgrades applied:

Obviously I was too lazy to destroy and then rebuild them after the upgrade. If you have all three radius reducing ARK upgrades*, then the radius for offshore turbines gets so small you can place them adjacent to each other with literally no degradation in efficiency, just making giant blocks of offshore power production.

*There's often 2 level one upgrades for each building that gets an ARK upgrade. One that reduces maintenance or ecological costs and one that increases efficiency. The level two and three upgrade generally combine the buffs.

In the video you mention that you can disable ascension rights for your citizens and then upgrade them manually, and do so by clicking on their houses. There's a much easier way, though. When you click on a city center, you can click on the upward pointing arrow next to a citizen class to instantly upgrade one house to the next class. Just mash those arrows, no need to gently caress around with individual houses.

To be honest, I didn't even know you could upgrade individual houses like you did, so I guess I learned something there.

I wonder how well an Anno-like game set in a less specific time period would do. When you set off to found your first settlement your starting ship and buildings look very early 1600th century but as you progress through the citizen levels your unlocked ships and buildings take on a later look culminating in a late 1800th century aesthetics. It would give the opportunity for all kinds of goods and minor factions to interact with. Having an unspecific time period lets you trade, fight or hire mercs from anyone from the Ottoman and Berbers to Indians (both kinds) and Chinese. Could be fun. Heck you could even add a semi-silly viking dlc faction that harasses you with longships (that probably won't stand up very well to a broadside of cannons).

Maybe the Asian factions could sail in and start outposts on small predetermined islands (too small for you to be able to build on) once a player reaches a level of development.

The prior post has finally been updated with a screenshot and the profile of Russel the Tycoon Executive.

So we're finally coming to the end of the campaign! At this point we've seen all the features the base game has to offer - city building, production, exploration, questing, research, diplomacy, Ecobalance remediation and warfare. F.A.T.H.E.R. will soon no longer endanger the world and we will have a chance to do something else different within the game. And now this is actually the point where I should have asked you what you wanted to see next!

* Would you like to see the Deep Ocean expansion's campaign, 'Miracle in Danger'? It is much shorter than the original campaign, but introduces Deep Ocean's new characters, mechanics and buildings.
* Would you like to see some of the other missions of the game? They would be rather similar to the missions you've seen so far, in that we'd get little tasks and sidequests that help us build up to completing a main task. If we do this after the Deep Ocean campaign, we'll be regressing from the refinements it made back to the base game.
* Would you like to see a plain, no-goals, sandbox Continuous Game? That would allow me to progress at my own pace, with fewer tasks that I'd be compelled to complete, to do everything in my own style without concern for scripted events, but would be much more aimless in its progression.
* Would you like to see a multiplayer game? It would allow some of you in the thread to participate in a game with me, and potentially to contribute your own constructions and tips to the thread in a video, but would be tougher to schedule the more people get involved, and will probably devolve into mass confusion and inefficiency.
* Would you like to see something completely different?

Please let me know!

I'd say I'd be all for the deep ocean stuff. You might as well do all of the campaigns, both vanilla and DLC.

Multiplayer would be nice at some point, if you start working on it trying to schedule it now that gives you more time to get couple of goons together to record it whenever. That way you'll have it up your sleeve to post whenever you want.

Definitely show the new stuff in Deep Ocean; whether you do that through the new campaign scenarios or through a continuous game doesn't really matter, I think. That said, you should probably do at least one continuous game at some point to show the kind of ecological devastation and heavy industry Tycoons are capable of.

But before we get there, since you asked if we'd like to see more of the original missions, there's this scenario called Power Games...

I've been looking into the multiplayer for Anno 2070 (after getting it on steam because of this LP!) and Domination mode seems like it'd be a good mode for multiplayer since players take their turns asynchronously, and as far as I can tell each mission in Domination mode is a Continuous game with a focus on developing a specific thing such as ecobalance, power, lisences, ect.

That said, I've never played it. Has anyone else?
