to put that ~2m figure in perspective: http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/02/android-wear-sales-bad-compared-to-phones-ok-compared-to-other-watches/ analysts put the number of android wear watches shipped north of 720k for all of 2014 pebble shipped its millionth watch december 2014 apple probably sold more watches in the first 90 days than every android smartwatch, combined.

zen death robot posted:Intel has the advantage of shitloads of code that works fine on x86 that no one is ever going to bother to port on the other hand, a pretty large number of enterprise LOB applications are just web front-ends to some horrific DB or whatever in the background. wiring them up to an ios app would be pretty trivial, and there's something to be said for the idea of replacing office drone computers with ipads pros or w/e. i think the ibm/apple partnership is going to move along those lines.
