I just watched the first 7 episodes of Kill la Kill and enjoyed them. While I can't excuse the general creepy attitude displayed towards Ryuko, I love the general aesthetic of the show, there's a lot of cool fascist imagery to analyse, and there's a tiny Cinema Discusso goon in my brain telling me that it's all a socialist allegory for something (in a good way).

Naturally I looked for a discussion thread here, found a short post about how it all goes downhill about halfway through, and am now torn between watching the rest despite knowing that it's going that way, or leaving it as it stands, as a Cool and Good show.

try watching a show and deciding for yourself. watching things is Fun, and thinking about your own opinions is Good.

yeah i have no idea why DC is so obsessed with making movies that are so unenjoyable to watch

marvel movies aren't always good but at least you can go see a dude punch another dude and snap off a few one lienrs

In Superman stuff there's usually a scene where people shoot at Superman, and Superman just stands there while the bullets splat on his bulletproof skin. They should've done a scene like that in Man of Steel, where Zod picks up civilians and throws them super-fast at Superman, and Superman just stands there as the civilians splat against his invincible body. Or maybe he casually bats them away with one hand before they hit him, and their broken bodies fly off into a pile of rubble.

i think they should've made superman a good movie, instead

i really liked the dc animated universe stuff as a kid, and then when i tried to get into comics i spent a lot of time going 'hey... wait... unlike the cartoons, this sucks!'

Chihayafuru, Kino's Journey, Gurren Lagann, Turn-A Gundam, FMA: Brotherhood, Code Geass, Mushishi, Baccano, Madoka Magica, One Piece.

One Piece is on there mostly for the stuff that I actually cared about back in the day/nostalgia. Gatchaman Crowds has a good chance of replacing it if S2 pans out.

persona 4 was one of my favorite games but then it just didn't go away and i got kind of worn out on its cast

its still really good and i like a lot of things about it but it wouldn't crack a top 10 for me, even if we're exclusively talking PS2 JRPGs.
