Today is Sunday. There are two numbers. Number 7 comes from Ahglan and Advisor Shamir. Number 8 comes from Longboot Matty and Bark No. 1. Do you know why 7 is afraid of 8? It's because 8 is dropped by the worst bosses ever.

UPDATE: The two babby stimulants, Dead Run and Lion's Roar, are incredibly good for Bark. If you're playing on Easy, you can cross the map in a few seconds with Dead Run, then one-shot all of the components with Lion's Roar. If you're not playing on easy, Dead Run will still let you cross the map incredibly quickly and it even lets you outrun explosions.

Today is Friday and the number is 13. Too spoopy, or just spoopy enough? Well, that's all beside the point, which is that today's number comes from Keaghan and Slithering Mare. Did you know they recently redubbed all of Keaghan's dialogue for some reason? Somehow they made some of the cutscenes worse.

- Most players are missing the numbers on their alts, not their mains
- Most players would rather buy the commander's package because it's cheaper than two bingo pouches
- This whole thing is pissing people off so they refuse to buy anything

I wonder how this is all going to wash out.

A mysterious visitor has ventured into the town of Colhen, and rumors fly between the townspeople, voices whispering in hushed alarm as Fergus is suddenly giving far better deals than normal on his repairs, and now powerful items are just appearing out of nowhere as others wake in the morning. Over the next five weeks, ending Sunday, December 27th, weekly bonuses and a massive attendance event are coming to Vindictus as a new player makes his way into town, and our new friend is just warming up...

You can't miss too many days, however: you have 35 days to claim 28 days worth of prizes if you want the big rewards at the end of the list!

Boosts are also coming over the next five weeks, making the war against the Fomors just a little easier. Also, I finally found out that the next character after Sylas MacHagie is named Delia:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIYSVLtQneU

ArchWizard

The devs actually remembered that "Vindictus humans live under a monarchy" thing when designing Delia:

quote:

Mabinogi Heroes Developer’s Note : The princess embarking on the path of Knighthood

Introducing the 11th character of Mabinogi Heroes (aka Vindictus), Delia.

She is a character who uses a massive Bastard Sword the size of her height and focuses on delivering crushing physical blows.

So the Bastard Sword, which Delia uses for both attacking and defending, can be seen as a representation of her combat style.

Delia’s general combat is designed around [basic attack + smash] + basic add-on smash + enhanced add-on smash.

To provide more detail, her add-on smash changes depending on the timing her smash key is pressed.

She will use her basic add-on smash on a quick keystroke.

She will use her enhanced add-on smash on a delayed keystroke.

Delia’s basic add-on smash can be used to quickly attack an active opponent and immediately avoid any retaliation and her enhanced add-on smash is slow but can be used to deliver a powerful blow against an enemy with an opening.

So these two smashes are her key feature which are chosen depending on the situation.

Delia’s basic add-on smash comes with additional effects that aid her in battle. On-hit, she will gain a stamina recovery effect and an effect that increases the damage of her enhanced add-on smash.

Meanwhile her enhanced add-on smash has multiple hits on it to increase the feeling of impact of the attack and to provide a way to maximize her dps by timing enhanced add-on smashes correctly so that all hits, maxed at 3 hits, connect.

The keyword for developing Delia was ‘strike’.

We tried to design a character that players could enjoy purely centered around powerful physical blows. Wild Star is a skill that exemplifies this concept.

Wild Star unleashes a different attack depending on how much it is charged; starting from a flinch to initiate a combo to an attack that sends her opponent flying.

A full charged Wild Star causes Delia to pursue her enemy to deliver a powerful strike. If this attack is delivered to a groggy opponent then it will be followed by a powerful skill named Queen’s Grace.

Queen’s Grace is a devastating attack that also locks down an enemy for a long time.

One more thing about Queen’s Grace. Delia has a special connection with Karok and Queen’s Grace can be used more effectively when teamed with Karok.
Is there anything here that makes her more than a sexy Hurk?

Also lol

quote:

The final skill to introduce in this note is Rose Crush.

Rose Crush is a skill that greatly increases Delia’s combat ability for a short duration in exchange for destroying her armor. Since the duration of this effect is limited, it should be used with caution. Preferably when the battle is about to end.
Is there anything here that makes Rose Crush more than a second, worse transformation?

Free grace events are the best because you can just go nuts on a boss without worrying about staying alive.

Since it's free grace time, I decided to make some progress on my Evie and fought Muir for the first time. Holy crap I cannot believe how fun it is to zip around with Blink and keep smacking him while he can barely touch me. It took a while because of my crappy gear, but I managed to beat him without even using any pots or graces. Then I got to the point where I had to knock him off the ledge and it only took three tries. It felt really drat good to finish him off with so little fuss.

In conclusion: Wizards are actually... good?!?!?!?!?

My guess is that they're farming for loot, so they want to go as fast as possible.

It's a shame you don't have someone like West server's BattleLore. He hosts 70-80 raids with ATT maximums and carries the people who join. Nice guy. I think he even wears a Santa outfit while he does it.

The Karok revamp is almost here.

General:
  • Karok does more damage
  • Karok takes less damage
  • More SP gain while hitting stuff
  • Less stamina consumption while hitting stuff
  • More ranks for Clash, Boss Bash, and Grapple Mastery
  • Every Karok gets a super-duper skill reset capsule
Pillar:
Cestus:
  • A new skill called Weaving lets you basically no-sell an incoming attack (didn't Karok already have that? I could have sworn I saw it in an early trailer video)
  • A new skill called Brutal Flurry that turns the punching up to 12 and lets you beat on a dude until your stamina runs out

Alas, this update comes with a severe gently caress You to all the players: Season 2 is no longer for noobs, scrubs, choggs, bloufs, or turrs.

Season 2 Improvements
While Season 3 has been the big story for the last few months, it's high time for Season 2 to get a second look. With the Karok Unleashed update, Season 2 will be overhauled from an area for level 50-70 characters and will now cater to characters between levels 70 and 90, with improved rewards, increased difficulty and more. Characters below Level 70 will be unable to enter Season 2 missions, so get up there if you want to keep exploring the islands around Malina!

I have yet more news about my least favorite solo boss, Muir. I was reading yet another thread on the Vindi forums about how much everybody hates Muir and I learned a tidbit: His weakpoint is not on his back. It turns out it's actually on the back of his right leg. If you aim for that, you can flinch him fairly consistently. Getting him into position to get knocked off the ledge without getting knocked off yourself is still hard with certain characters, but at least I no longer flail at his back and get mad because it's not affecting him.

But giving people less choice in the content they are able to do at any given time is always a bad thing and it's especially bad when a game already asks you to repeat so much of the same as this one does. They could have added another tier of difficulty on top of the existing ones instead of just upping the level on it.
Season 2 battles have had Hero mode tabs on them for years, so I think this is what they intended to do from the beginning. I guess they changed their mind around the same time they decided to remove the 8-29 and 30-49 difficulties.

There's a +1 raids and bonus EXP/AP event going on this weekend. This is a good time to level up some alts so they won't be shut out of the new Season 2 or the next bingo event.

We're going to get Battle Priest and Battle Nun outfits soon. I don't care. I only want the Battle Rabbi outfit.
