Is there anything better in this world than a good Cherry brown keyswitch?

I replaced my Logitech G710+ with a G910 "Orion Spark" to get in on some rainbow action but the romer-G keys are waaaay worse to type on :(
Having the G710 at work is nice though

I got a CM Storm Quickfire XT for my other computer which is super nice for the money, also with Cherry brown switches.

At least it has a proper vertical Enter key, most of these keyboard snob cap kits only come with dumb US layout horizontal enter keys

Does it include a permanent marker so you can draw lettering on all the keycaps, because I really get that urge from this picture

Why can't they just mass produce that first keyboard, it's basically perfect

I have a Logitech G910 Orion Spark, can I be pretentious with you guys or do I have to replace it with something using cherry mx switches?

The lighting on the romer-g keys is beautiful but the switch itself is mushy and bad compared to glorious mx blues or browns (and the logitech RGB software has zero interesting effects plugins so far)

I have a logitech g710+ at work in an office landscape and my coworkers haven't killed me yet.

It has cherry mx browns with rubber damper rings, I think it's reasonably quiet. Another guy in my office is way louder hammering away on his cheapo membrane keyboard, it depends on how hard you bottom out the keys, not just the mechanism

This made me curious about something, but sadly the keycap stems from an old BBC microcomputer are slightly too large for cherry MX switches :(

Really disappointed by the lack of LEDs on these expensive custom keyboards

I think I should sell my Logitech and get a Corsair with proper cherry keys and better software

Do you all live in tiny japanese apartments or the back seat of car or something? What valid reasons are there to want half a keyboard?

cooler master makes a topre keyboard that is compatible with cherry mx caps so you can make goofy custom keyboard autism layouts

I really want to buy one but I'm not sure if I trust it to be as amazing as people say

This thread finally pushed me over the edge to decide the G910 is bad and it needs replacement, so I ordered a Corsair K95 with Cherry MX browns and those translucent keycaps :catdrugs:

Got the Corsair K95 today, pretty happy so far although the Logitech G910 has screwed up Cherry muscle memory, I hope I get used to them again quickly :(

The Corsair software sucks, but someone reverse engineered the USB protocol and made good software, yay

Stock keycaps are kinda meh too, hopefully the new ones won't take a whole month to get here.

those blue leds under your nixie tubes are shameful as hell

im not a huge fan of corsair keyboards, but hey, its better than what you had

They are RGB leds actually and programmable, they switch colors for each hour now and you can disable them, it's a nice kit

My entire desk is filled with stuff from http://nixiekits.eu/ and their STC power amp is especially awesome

I actually have one of those right next to my gay rainbow keyboard and can confirm they are pretty nifty, mainly because you get the same LCD that they use in the logitech G19 and it is detected by fraps, AIDA64 etc.

I don't see what's wrong with that enter key, it looks like it sits flush with the two rows next to it.

And it's the proper tall Queen's enter instead of the inferior tiny american one, which is good.

Supposedly the older style of cherry mx led switch are pretty prone to failures due to mechanical stress and getting zapped by static, they're the ones that has the led poking all the way through the switch like on my g710+

Just another advantage of mechanical keyboards, you can have two pounds of cheetos dust and doritos crumbs in there and the cherry mx switches won't care
