Wow. Fifteen years ago the Brazil charcoal industry was the go to example of an intractable slave economy that couldn't be effectively boycotted. I'm amazed so much progress has been made. That is a good point that solutions to these problems need the active support of the countries where the goods are produced. An agreement with them that promotes better labor, safety, and environmental regulation and enforcement is a good one.
