My gym has a Friday Yoga thing that I figured I'd hit up thinkin it would be a nice way to relax and get some flexability work in. Turns out "yoga" is code for "sit in squat based positions for 45 minutes straight." Lower back was dead and my leg workout today suffered so much. Could barely even make it to parallel and that was if I really tried.

Moral of the story? never do anything fitness related other than lifting. It's stupid.

No it's not "continue doing other fitness related stuff so a 50 minute yoga routine doesn't leave legs so exhausted a workout the next day suffers."

Tryin out Boring but Big for the next 4 months or so. Have always done high volume bodybuilding poo poo for the past 6 years, and though occasionally I've had certain lifts hit good numbers (500 deadlift. 200 + military press) I've never been actually strong (and even those occasional good numbers were fleeting and I can't get close to them now). Figure winter will be a good time to see if I can get some actual respectable squat/bench press numbers. Might even transition from that routine into a 3-4 month show prep as I think ima compete next year (have had a few friends that I'm 100 % more aesthetic then compete in regional NPC comps and do well, so I think I can at least place).

Youtube is great for feeling like absolute poo poo about yourself. I spend all of my "real life" being told by everybody, even at gay bars, that I have an amazing physique and it bloats up my confidence ten fold. All it takes to ruin that is spending 5 minutes on Youtube to see guys that only weigh like 15 pounds more than me but are twice as huge and leaner and lift twice my weight on every lift to send me crashing back down to earth. I like to believe Youtube stars like Bradley Martin, Mike Rashid and his group aren't actually real and just really good CGI cutscenes from a anime.

This applies to any hobby or skill you think you have, actually. No matter how good you are at something there is definitely 20 people on Youtube that will make you feel like poo poo.
