So uhh, I dunno if I'm supposed to do this or not but here it goes.

I have a friend who's been working on a comic for quite a bit, and he's not had all that many readers tuning in. It's called Spiral of Nightmares, and it's a horror comic with oddly cutesy characters that's still building up steam towards some big conflict. (he hasn't let on to me what exactly that will be, though.) He mostly doesn't understand how to market his stuff, but i feel like maybe there's other issues? I personally like his art style, but I can definitely see how he needs improvement in form and other things. it can be found here or here.
I guess lemme know what you think of it and I'll relay it back to him.
I've barely started into this. To me, It reads like a comic fan-translated to English from another language. While I haven't run into the "adult content" yet, I'm not really looking forward to it. I'll update this post again when I've stopped reading.

edit: I've stopped reading, but I got to the end of the chapter so there's that. For what it's worth, I don't know if the horror presented thus far needs an adult label on it.

I can't link to one of my favorite webcomics because it's down right now. Even when it comes back up, I can't promise it will be updated any time soon because the author (Spike) is busy with creating and publishing other works, but Templar, Arizona is an alternate history comic with great lines, writings and imaginative world building that's outrageous but probably exists in some way.

Even before the site went down, there's a chance the last time it updated was the last time Achewood updated, but unlike Achewood, I have confidence Spike will get back to it at some point even if it's only for a strip or two.

For a webcomic that actually finished, I must thank goons for leading me (and this thread) to Endstone, a goofy but fun ride from beginning to end.

Also, very inspiring.

Maybe? I started reading from the beginning, and their connection was there from pretty much the beginning. While the art's pretty and the lettering is nice, it seemed like Garfield to me.

Honey Hart and Turpentine have had the same ideas that fill their songs for the past five years and the same obsessions with each other. Maybe this strip will be the catalyst for a new direction.

Templar, AZ. I can't link to it anymore because the site got bugged or hacked or something and it was too much trouble for Spike to fix. Before it went down her updates slowed to Achewood speeds but i didn't mind as long as she got there.

It's something of a slice of life comic in a world where history went a little differently and doesn't outright tell you how different things are, but nifty subcultures and apocalypse cults and above all the people made for my favorite webcomic. If it wasn't for 6KBD it would still be my favorite webcomic even though i haven't been able to read it for over a year. I hope she goes back to Templar, someday.

I'm snipping this from the rest of your post because it's a reminder to share something Abaddon mentioned during one of his online meetings.

Folks, myself included, gushed over the K6BD's worldbuilding, but he told us it's the storytelling that's important. It was a wake-up call to me because I saw it as essential as geography when I was putting the cart before the horse the entire time.

Aw. I had started SGR shortly before the long arc that started with Ryan trying to meet his murdered girlfriend and ending with Erin going to Hell. Eventually through rereading, I found stories as a whole were more self-contained, but I missed the smarmy serial even though I mostly enjoyed the remainder of SGR. I remember having some doubts about Bad Machinery when it was announced, but I stuck with it and overall I think I enjoyed it more. Shelley is alright, but she just dominates every scene she's in, while all the mystery kids had a chance to shine (Linton not as much as the others, but still)

I think it's mostly that while all his comics have clever writing and silliness, Bad Machinery also had parts that moved me in a way Scary Go Round never did and is why the Case of the Fire Inside is my favorite.

I didn't have to obsessively read CAD to appreciate a good any loss edit. All I really know about SFP comes from these forum posts and I think the idea of Clevin in terms of narrative cancer is a gift I'll never tire from.
