op, please stay up to date on KG Green matters and link to He is A Good Boy and Back how about. And Gunshow goes in the Ended section now.

And thanks for including You Suck in the goon list, I just started updating it again. I'm trying to draw better these days.

Well, to be fair, she just hasn't been able to update the comic as much, 'cause she's working on the Dead Winter game at the same time now! It's pretty cool, heavily inspired by the ol' Konami brawlers

Eyy folks, my own li'l comic featuring a demon had a massive website revamp. The latest comic is kinda April Foolsy although that wasn't really the intent. Most importantly, though, I got a new collaborator and she is just so good at things, so we're expecting to do a lot of good this year.
Like Miss Cagle, I plan to start doing about 4 different series this year, but I still got problems wrt having the attention span of a ferret, so who knows. I'll try my best, though.

BTW, Bea, your April Fools page was amazing, and I can't believe someone else has heard of Lynch's comic, holy poo poo

edit: oh right, I should mention my comic is :nws:

Huh, didn't know you had an account here. Makes it easier to say thanks for the comics at least!

Fwiw I'd have been perfectly happy to see You Suck continue with sketches, if it was a choice between that and it never updating again. Then again I also felt the One Punch Man redraw was mostly unnecessary (not to be ungrateful, but), sooooo definitely don't take my aesthetic opinions too seriously.

There was a period on SA about a decade ago when webcartoonists all over would post in these threads. They've since spread out, and I'm mostly sticking around to talk about Final Fantasy Record Keeper, but that's just how it is. I still like to pop in here every once in a while though... Still alive and all that.

I'll be switching back to sketches if it comes to it, as folks didn't seem to mind it. It's nice to know the option's there, since it's a comic I'd like to always be working on in some way... even if I have to switch 99% of my focus to Slipshine comics, where payment is more guaranteed. It's a bummer, but we can only devote so much time to comics that don't pay off these days; this redesign and such is kind of the final push... :sweatdrop:

I didn't like It's Walky, was pretty indifferent to Shortpacked!, and I find Dumbing of Age pretty rad. That's my Willis opinion.

That's how I feel about it, too. Like, sure it's a vaguely sexy comic about women loving on each other written by a man. But I definitely know there were a bunch of teen girls who read that stuff and were like, hey, yeah, I vibe on this. Even if the author of a comic with bi or gay women in it isn't one themselves, people who are or are questioning can still really benefit from seeing themselves reflected in something, so long as the work itself isn't real bad about the subject matter.

Hello! fwiw, Girly was the way it was 'cause even though Wendy & Cutewendy had shallow, horny-kid-written lesbians, they ended up with a lot of lesbian fans anyway. So when Girly got going, I wanted to make a real effort writing a story for them. Haven't really written any comics with a male audience in mind since then. Well... mostly.

After reading through Girly and some of Lesnick's other webcomics, I can say that he's pretty good at cartooning. But I don't get why he's so defensive about Moon over June. What's the deal? Getting defensive about the webcomics you sell on your porn site doesn't seem like a good way to get people interested in subscriptions.

Maybe I'll blog about why I like MoJ someday. I'm not really crazy about my drunken SAforums+twitter tantrum method of defending it back then, or pretty much 95% of the things I said on the internet during my webcomic days, but that's another blog post that would take five days to write.

Also, it's cool if you're not into my art, but I wonder if the people who still say it's messy have even read You Suck, lol (the answer is no. Nobody read You Suck )

Oh shut up you baby, people read it. Liked it, even! I didn't even especially mind when it was literal scribbles, because it was a fun story, but I appreciate if you weren't super happy publishing it in that condition if it felt like you weren't giving it enough attention.

Awww, thanks, I appreciate it! :) Alas, the numbers have distinctly told me nobody read it, and you know what they say about the numbers.

Honestly, though, it's not really something I'm scratching my head about, when I step back and look at it. Trying to make a big success from a free adult webcomic, without anything else to back it up, was pretty audacious and reckless. No one's really done it before, and if anyone was going to be the first, it sure wasn't going to be me. :v:

Like every webcomic boner I made, it was a good learning experience... albeit a very expensive one...

It still was my best comic, though; I'll get back to it soon as I can!

I wanted to mention this somewhere, and I guess it may as well be here since the subject came up... But while Dominic Deegan certainly was not good, I regret how obsessed I was over hating on it back in the day.

I mean, it was mostly the same sorta thing you'd see in the mock thread, but like all the ranting on other webcomics I did in the past, there was this rather ugly, petty jealousy mixed into it, and while I'm sure it was completely obvious to everyone else, I had utterly convinced myself this wasn't the case.

Looking back, DD really is the webcomic equivalent to those kinds of edgy comics many of us would sketch in our notebooks during Junior High, and honestly, there's something oddly charming about that. It wasn't good, but I can no longer say I don't understand why it caught on the way it did.

Although the orc storyline is still one of the most offensive things I've ever seen :v:

Blaster Nation wasn't particularly good so I approve of them realising their limitations with it.

Although making a porn comic instead is hardly an improvement, but at least they will be able to milk money out of the coveted, repressed nerd market.

I just think porn doesn't really work in a webcomic format because in a medium so susceptible to meandering even in the best of webcomics, depicting an act where smaller details need to be explicitly laid out can easily lead to entire weeks where updates consist of what essentially is a single action. It may hold up better in archival reading, but I can't imagine anything more boring and less titillating than checking up on a story for a week and a half and seeing no forward progress because the plot had led into a sex scene.

I had this trouble with my porns for quite some time for this very reason, but workin' on You Suck actually helped quite a bit, since the day-by-day updates encouraged me to include some kind of "beat" with each page of the sex parts. It resulted in something a lot more interesting than the usual dialogue-less stuff I'd do for Slipshine.

Check this whole scene starting here to see what I mean, but obviously not at work or thereabouts.

I'm a little late re: Gay comics... but while it ended a while back, and i'll be the first to admit that parts of it haven't exactly aged like wine, I'm still pretty proud of ol' Girlyyy

It's really interesting how, if you were to look at the page having never heard of Octopus Pie before, you'd never be able to tell it was the conclusion to the comic, whereas after following the comic for years, it feels pretty dang appropriate.

Meanwhile, It Hurts is probably the 20th webcomic to end with its main character meeting god, but the first one where it makes a lick of sense.

Great writing all around. I be envious.
