I have never seen a situation or use case where optimus works well or at all. I've heard of nothing but problems and honestly it seems like it'd make more sense to design gpus to scale clock speed and power consumption like we do with cpus

The ISO isn't  , Microsoft offered it as a free download until recently (really when you buy Windows you're not buying the ISO, you're buying the product key).

Edge gets extensions in November. As far as I'm aware the Edge API is going to be as close as possible to Chrome's API so when it's released porting stuff should be really easy.
