Anyone else having issues upgrading your "care" levels in order to accommodate installing a new Windows OS on an aging "gaming rig" you have lying around? I find mine are pretty low and I don't really feel like doing it.

I say if you rely on the machine in order to make a living, I would hold off until Windows 10 is really completely out of beta and a few patches come through. You aren't missing out on anything big, unless you consider being a Microsoft Honorary QA Team Member a big deal.

Idk it just sounds confusing. If it's free updates forever then just make the thing free and be done with it. Or at least just loosen up activation restrictions in order to get more people on the platform forever.

Also, does free updates forever mean that MS has to support 32-bit Windows forever or is there a "cut off" support date for Windows 10.x around the corner in a few years?

Strange, since the MS website said it was OEM (and it came with the laptop as a COA) but who cares, really. The point is that you're learning. Windows is an unmitigated disaster of poo poo and you're better off using almost anything else.

No, I'm pretty sure you're wrong. I mean they didn't call it a beta, but if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and shits the bed and irritates the gently caress out of early adopters like a duck...

My only Windows machine is running on an older, slower laptop HDD and while Win 10 does start up pretty quickly, it's still a pain in my rear end to reboot it. No OEM software, it's an upgrade install but there's no way in hell I'm diving through clean installs, licensing and other bullshit. I've got things to do. Hopefully it'll be fixed when Windows 10 is out of beta at least.
