Very curious to see your perspectives on really diving in head first into an individual's body of work like that, it can be pretty intense once you get into the swing of things. As an aside, if you're interested in any kind of Japanese cinema bonus rounds, I would very, very much recommend Yasujiro Ozu as a contrast with Kurosawa in particular. Especially if you're just willing to fit in The Record of a Tenement Gentleman,Tokyo Story, or Floating Weeds in, as those are considered his most renowned films.
