It wouldn't ever go and you can emulate it yourself by closing your eye. It's just simulating him having a blind spot due to an eye not working, and obviously, his eye never started working again. It's generally not been in the following games, but that's probably because it'd be annoying.

Could also be that it's the other Big Boss that's not gotten adjusted to the blind spot, though yeah it's not like there's much reason for it to go away in the first place aside from making first-person gameplay more readable.

The Metal gear wiki now has a page for Venom. I think people are taking these leaks way to seriously. All we know is that a guidebook told us that Venom may or May not be Big Boss. And im still surprised this guidebook spoiled this information.

The guidebook words it in a way that is the epitome of "I can't confirm anything, *wink wink*, but here's what I think happened." That section of the guide is opens with a spoiler warning too, so why not discuss it?

No, if the fake Big Boss stuff is true then both are voiced by Kiefer. Hayter's not present because the guy wrecked his voice and can't do Snake properly anymore, as Peacewalker showed.

Lolling at all these people in denial about playing the wrong protagonist, its like MGS2 all over again. Coincidentally, TPP is practically a direct prequel to MGS2.

If Kojima's really going to make everyone play right into his hand by doing a switcheroo that everyone flips out about in the exact way he wants them to a second time that would be pretty amazing. Also yeah all the themes of language as control definitely makes this a lot closer to 2 than any of the other games, so it would probably be a natural fit. Also I bet we'll get soldiers that end up having better stats than BB in enough ways that we'll eventually just play as an S-rank soldier instead of him for everything but story missions anyways. And story-wise it's still very much going to be about Big Boss, and if speculation is anything to go by the real Big Boss is still going to be very prominent in the game. Basically people are big babies about their video game stories. Which is rich coming from me but there you have it.

I hope the Venom Snake bossfight is like PW, where its difficulty is tied to how much effort you put into research. If you unlock everything Venom cheats with Jehuty teleport CQC, and if you do the bare minimum he only has basic equipment.

Man this is the game a 15 year old me would of wanted so bad when my favorite games were MGS 2 and Vice City. Also, cliche or not I want loving Danger Zone on that soundtrack and have I Ran as my helicopter music (I guess you can Spotify it for PS4?). Also is there anything more about that Mantis looking kid being called "Third Child"? Or does that have something to with the Venom Snake stuff floating around?

The KFP lets play shows you getting DD in like the second mission of the game, which is heaps earlier than Africa, like in the official game play demos. I wonder how long it will take for DD to grow up and become usable? The guard AI already looks better than GZ. e: I wonder if you go around knocking your guys out on MB all the time, will there be anyone to defend if it gets attacked? Watching the scene with Kaz and Big Boss in the helicopter ride back to Mother Base makes me think that if there's some kind of WHO IS VENOM SNAKE ruse going on, Kaz likely doesn't know the full story himself. Ocelot probably does, but "Ocelot is in on poo poo that no one else is" shouldn't even be considered a spoiler at this point in the series, really.

One of the guys spoiling stuff on Gamefaqs said the first part of the E3 2015 trailer with the blood is the first ending of the game. I guess the leak that said you'd have to kill everyone in your own Motherbase might be true. EDIT: Yeah the italian guide says that the parasites that mutate vocal cords infects Motherbase and you have to kill everyone to prevent an epidemic. No no no, remember the animal conservation strut isn't connected to the rest of Mother Base and is only accessible by helicopter. They're safe as can be in the middle of the ocean with no one to care for them after you kill everybody

I just don't understand the reason for this twist. What's the reason for playing a guy with BB's face instead of just playing as Big Boss? I don't mind if that's the case. It just seems silly that this is the game that's supposed to bridge that missing gap between Metal Gear Solid 3 / Peace Walker and the first Metal Gear. This is the story of how Big Boss becomes the bad guy but it turns out the story isn't even following Big Boss. So we're never going to get that bit of the story?
