I just don't understand the reason for this twist. What's the reason for playing a guy with BB's face instead of just playing as Big Boss? I don't mind if that's the case. It just seems silly that this is the game that's supposed to bridge that missing gap between Metal Gear Solid 3 / Peace Walker and the first Metal Gear. This is the story of how Big Boss becomes the bad guy but it turns out the story isn't even following Big Boss. So we're never going to get that bit of the story?

Nothing in those spoilers about why that shrapnel seems to be growing into a demon horn. More hallucinations, or maybe Venom Snake sees himself that way? Also we got two different Big Bosses for Metal Gear 1 and 2. Somehow that's the craziest part to me. I almost wish there were going to be remakes for those two games with all the new retconned lore in place.

Any word yet on how much work Kiefer Sutherland put into this? I was listening to the Giant Bomb podcast and it sounded worrying how little Big Boss talked. Almost awkward in his silence. I haven't watched any streams.
