Or the time the ship just decided on it's own to have a space baby and then went back to being a ship?

It didn't decide on its own. Riker finally did it. All that holodeck sex.

Riker impregnated the ship.

star trek ships even have a stun setting on their main phasers, and can target with centimeter precision from orbit

no need to ever have more than a handfull of guys in key locations on a planet as long as you've got a few ships in orbit.

The Federation totally should've gone ahead and mass produced the phase shifting cloaking device, treaties be damned. :colbert:

the treaty was the dumbest poo poo anyway. "We won't use cloaks ever, and you guys will...oh nothing?...we'll okay, we won't use cloaks".

yeah yeah rodenberry good guys don't sneak, whatever

Glad they quietly dropped that with the Defiant on ds9 like all lot of his other loopy utopian drama killing ideas

"When Dukat and Benjamin Sisko enter the Promenade, having just returned to Deep Space 9 after visiting the Demilitarized Zone, it is obvious that the chest piece of Dukat's costume has detached itself from the underlying material. The rubber armor even catches a few times on the actor's lower arm as it swings while he walks."

Future armor: strong enough to stop bullets and low power phaser blasts, yet light enough to appear to be rubber.

The brief HBO lintro does make me want an R rated, highly serialized sci-fi show. Come on HBO, make something.

Showtime forced some topless scenes into the first episode of Stargate because it's paid cable and people pay for tits.

What's so dissapointing about that episode is that it was actually pretty good until the stupid reveal that "this is literally the USA!:aaa:" It was such a random plot twist that made less than no sense and had nothing to do with the first half.

It's federation prison tho. It's still a post scarcity utopia. You get average food because there is no reason to give you bad food. Your room is a little smaller than the free apartment you got back home, but probably bigger than the lowbie crew quarters on an average starship, and certainly nicer than a bajoran refugee camp. No holosuite time and probably pretty strict replicator restrictions. It's just boring. They were barely able to talk Tom Paris into leaving prison to pilot Voyager. 'Would you rather be in prison or fly a starship?' 'Meh, six of one, half a dozen of the other.'

The federation is all about rehabilitation. Their prisons are humane but boring, so you'll willingly participate in the rehabilitation programs just for something to do. Councillors as far as the eye can see.

I really think a conjugal visit with a holodeck every now and then would be written into Federation Law.

How did Data, a robot, catch the "super horny, suicidally horny" space virus again? Like...I mean...how?

He can't, he was just trying to fit in, and thought that sometimes humans get super space horny.
