I got the demo from FF Type-0 and outside of the combat being a bit jank at times I actually thought it was pretty good.

I'm saying that most of the people make the decisions that matter at the AAA level don't really give one poo poo about Anita or the GG kids or whatever and will continue to make whatever moves product. There's honestly nothing wrong with advocating for change but if you honestly think Anita and co are big movers and shakers in the industry you're pretty much crammed up your own rear end.

playing tales from the borderlands, its p good/entertaining but like all telltale story things your decisions don't really seem to matter all that much

I imagine there's some really big live-or-die decision at the end that culminates from your decisions like The Wolf Among Us but will largely be factored out or made kind of an aside if they do another season

Shadowrun Hong Kong continues to be good but has some unfortunate scripting bugs that kinda gently caress up part of the sidequests.

The Is0bel sidequest is a bit :psyduck:. Is0bel is somehow the least likable team member even after the flesh-eating ghoul and the diagnosed-psychopath who is only okay because he has 0 essence and his lizard-brain tendencies routed to his drone.

Is0bel is a goon. Her run basically takes the typical "loyalty mission" cliche and stands it on its head. The whole of deckcon outside of the group of runners you bump into are terrible nerdos (complete with the authors of Shadowrun poking fun at the 'future' shadowrun with the headdecks and 'otaku') , Is0bel is borderline autistic and has literally 0 social skills. You have to coach her through multiple interactions (with your potential disgust level rising each time), only to find out that she wanted to beat up her target over a minor disagreement. Then the last bit of dialog with her target, lmao

Meanwhile in Gaichu's you're helping him slaughter his old attachment which consists of one of the most elite corp units in the series.

also I think they could afford those by now, I think it instead speaks to their development priorities
It's really jarring; like you'll play to the intro and the intro (in addition to all of Tales from the Borderlands intros having p good music) will be really well animated and then when I get back in game it's this really jerky/clunky animation that bugs out regularly (current favorite bug is Fiona gliding around on one leg like Gumby).

Oh yeah, if you go to melee dudes get good at coming to a total stop right in front of them if you want them to stay down for a while. If you're not moving, you can do a 6-hit combo that will put dudes out for longer than a tranq dart.

The CQC throws/slams are pretty much for when you're in a hurry.

Yeah, takes a bit. I frequently have guards wake up from Tranqs when I'm hunting down specialists on missions. Major missions almost always have 2-3 troops with unique skills- I need to go back and redo one mission so I can get a vehicle expert.

Whatever you want really. If you have a good PC then PC I guess since it will look better and run at a higher/consistent framerate?

Also whichever one has the controller you prefer.

It's actually really good. Can get repetitive since it's "open world"- basically most of your missions take place on a map where if you're doing a lot of stuff, you can end up hitting the same areas over and over.

Blackula69 posted:

so what's the deal with like running a base in mgs5

is it like assassin's creed style where you can do missions to upgrade your hq or whatever?
Not totally

you kidnap fulton soldiers out of the field (your binoculars scan enemies and show their stats- E-S++, in multiple fields), and they just kinda...join because hey you're big boss. Some will have to sit in the brig to be convinced for a while but they all join inevitably.

You can manually place or auto-place soldiers into your Support (determines fulton success rates, supply drop success rates, what they can drop, the ability to lay down artillery/smoke support ,etc), Intel (auto-marks general area guards are in on your map, tells you incoming weather, alerts you to vehicles/etc coming into the area, etc), R&D (item development), Combat (dudes you send on away missions that give lots of resources/money/recruits), Medical (helping your guys recover from injury/ptsd/etc, other stuff), base development (automatic resource aquirement).

Some soldiers will have special skills, like being a "gunsmith" for a specific type of weapon which opens up different upgrades and makes them cheaper if you put them in the R&D team. Or stuff like "Vehicle Specialist" which can let you learn how to fulton out vehicles. Stuff like that.

It can also be negative; namely "Troublemakers" who put your other members in the medbay because they like to fight, harass, or get everyone sick by being disgusting goons

You increase your staff limits by building extra platforms. As the game progresses what your individual groups can do gets better and better.

Check your combat deployments. Combat deployments at the bottom of the list for "destroying shipments" will actually reduce the amount of whatever equipment you destroy being used in the field.

I keep having to destroy their helmet shipments since I constantly get headshots.

Just owned the poo poo out of the mission where you had to blow up 7 armored vehicles in 15 minutes, ruled. Pre-dropping supplies so I'd never run out of ammo, didn't let any of the tanks get away, used the stolen homing rockets to pwn the 2 tanks and heli that come if you do too good, and then knocked out half the map with the Riot SMG and snagged the Electrospinning Specialist along with a random prisoner who was walking down the river (???) for some reason along with like a dozen A/A+ soldiers with random skills
