Is it unreasonable to think that a vocal minority should be heard, but ultimately told to 'deal with it' when it comes to performing arts? I dont think so.

Abbott spent pretty much his whole time in opposition yelling 'labor instability' during Rudd-Gillard-Rudd. He became PM riding on the notion that "we are not the Labor party" and that the Liberals were somehow this united force. Now as soon as he's out of power he spits the dummy and proceeds to do the same thing except targeting his own party. The lack of self-awareness is delicious.

I don't think either of them should be banned, but it's not hard to see why one attracts the attention of activists and one doesn't. Cannibal Corpse is firmly in the realm of fantasy while it's not so clear cut with Tyler the Creator.

Endman posted:I really hope nobody makes another thread. OK so just to counter a few of the more xenophobic and fascistic statements made since last nights definitely not a meltdown. If Australia took in 10 million people we would have an economic boom. The sheer volume of economic activity, above and beyond what we currently have, required to build the housing, produce, move and distribute the goods and food for those 10 million people would probably put our economy into double digit growth. So any talk about it lowering the level of social security is levels of dumb. If you don't believe me google 'immigration and the Australian economy history'. Waaa if we let anyone in they will start beheading everyone Waaa Not sure why I'm dignifying this with a response. Especially given today's Telegraph headline. This is just ridiculous dog whistle, white Australia bullshit. Let's say we let five million (5 000 000) Syrian refugees into Australia. After our economy stopped booming, we would be left with a mixed culture even more diverse than it is today. Yummy food that we could only get in speciality restaurants would be on the shelves at the IGA. Oud and Dharbka players would rival Banjo and mandolin players for busking spots on our more colourful and interesting streets. The call to prayer would be heard more often in places it hasn't been heard before. In short it would be similar to the difference between 1950's Australia and 1980's Australia and it would have changed for all the same reasons. And guess what? Muslin Australians would STILL BE A MINORITY and Saudi style beheadings would only be a thing if we had Scott Morrison as PM. At least the comedy gold hasn't stoped in AusPol:- http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-09-30/eric-abetz-worried-by-resignations-from-liberal-party/6816938 quote:Liberal boss in Tasmania disputes claims by Eric Abetz of 'hundreds of resignations' from party By political reporters Stephanie Anderson and Francis Keany Updated about 10 hours ago But to bring you back down. Our glorious Turdball was on RN this morning making a tool of himself. http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/breakfast/pm-says-everything/6818722 quote:PM says 'everything is on the table' Thursday 1 October 2015 7:35AM I don't remember who actually said it but "So we lost ten right wing nut jobs and gained eight decent normal people." was tremendous. Even if it does somewhat beg the conclusion that only a right wing nut job would support NTATA. This is ultimately unfortunate for a party that is identical except for the tie on the suit at the top. That and a certain wiff of well rounded poo.

Immediatly seeing cries of "political prisoner" and "unlawful detention". At least, since he is not a brown child he will be out by the weekend, and not behind bars until puberty.

There's not a single loving thing they can do about him. He's not going to shut up, he has a relatively sizable backing, and if they expel him from the party, he's a martyr. They're just hoping to weather the storm until the election when they hope he's going to get creamed by his own constituency. Alternatively, they'll nominate someone else for his seat.

Tony Abbott is now the hero we need. I hope he is encouraged to swing at the knees of his fellow party members for many months to come.

Hang on. 10 million is nearly 50% our current population and would be completely unprecedented. I don't know about it lowering our own standard of living, but we certainly wouldn't be able to adequately house 10 million refugees in any kind of decent standard. "Where do we draw the line" and "oh you think we should just let everybody in" are stupid racist arguments, but speculating on the upper cap of new arrivals you can successfully integrate per year is an interesting thought experiment. I'm obviously talking about refugees here, who arrive with nothing and require state care for a while. Forgive me if you're talking about general immigration.

Tony Abbott will linger like a sad ghost, unable to be seen or heard by anyone from his former life. He will only manifest as faint moaning and strange appearances in photographs of Parliament and The Lodge when no one remembers him being there.
