Saw this too, supposedly timing it with the international break so the replacement has some time to settle.

This would imply that they have a replacement already lined up, which would further imply that it isn't Josep "Pep" Guardiola, who already has a job

They'd have to pay a pretty big chunk to Swansea and Southampton respectively for those two.

I don't actually think we'd have any chance with Ancelotti but I think Klopp could be persuaded.

Klopp and Ancelotti are favourites with the bookies followed by Mazzarri, De Boer, Villas-Boas and Monk.

I really do not want Mazzarri or Villas-Boas. Monk is an interesting one but I think he's too inexperienced at this point in time and the club is crying out for someone who knows how to handle high expectations and media scrutiny. De Boer is a gamble and I think we've had enough of those recently.

Now that I've had a chance to read "Managerial Career" on the Frank De Boer wikpedia page, what makes him a gamble, any more than everyone except Ancelotti or Alex Ferguson would be?

They were all over him on Talksport today. They had on a journalist regular who's name I didn't catch who loves him some Arsene but his name escapes me.. he was basically like "I love Wenger, he's been amazing for the club, but my love, as with most fans of the club, has slowly been waning. I don't want my love to turn to hate... I think honestly he just needs to go"
