I have a question about enemy stats, though, and it could be that I just missed this in the rules. When and how do enemy stats get damaged. Is this just up to the kind of stat (social/mental/physical) and the action being described/move being used?

I'm not sure if it's the only way, but at least one way it happens is on a 7-9 on Finish Them.

Yeah, I'm honestly in the same boat, especially in regards to signed versions. It wasn't really gnome's fault from what I understand, but the signed+physical tier of Inverse World was kind of a poo poo show too.

I haven't read through it yet but I just want to say The Horizon owns as a concept. The focus on a main big bad is one of the major constraints for the system, and this makes the game a lot more versatile.
