LionYeti posted:The cool part about the apple lease, as opposed to a carrier lease is you can do an installment plan and take it to like a low cost carrier like Cricket. Or if you move to a place where your carriers coverage sucks you can change carriers. Is that right? So if I switch from Verizon to AT&T for example, 6 months into the 24-month plan, can I just take the phone in, swap it for a new carrier phone with the same storage and carry on as normal? It's cheaper for me to be a part of my family's plan at the moment but if they decide to switch providers I'm kind of at their mercy.

LionYeti posted:I'd assume that's what it would be you're leasing the phone from Apple not a carrier and they said in the presentation the phones gonna be unlocked. You wouldn't be getting a new phone you'd be swapping the sim card. Right but don't different providers use different technologies (CDMA/GSM) which would make the phones physically incompatible with other networks or is that a thing of the past?

Drastic Actions posted:They do, but the iPhone supports them all the bands for each carrier . They don't have multiple phone models for each carrier anymore. Ok perfect, that's awesome news. I definitely remember back when they first came out they made that distinction, that'll make any future decisions a ton easier and makes my pre-order a no-brainer now
