Amazing, can't believe sofia is actually dead I would have put money on ruxin faking it to get sympathy quite the misdirection.

I won't say it redeems the season, but it was clearly the best thing in S7 and probably is the highest note they'll go out on. As soon as Ruxin was playing up the sympathy I figured she was really dead, because it seemed pretty standard for the show to go there. The one thing I have to give them credit for is never completely overusing Rafi or Dirty Randy. Other shows might have tried to cling to that life raft, but the small tastes are perfect.

There's, what, two more episodes?

I hated this episode more than any of the others to be honest. I actually fast forwarded some of the Rafi/Dirty Randy stuff. I just don't think they're that funny on their own. But, that said, this is a good start. I said that I hoped they would kill them all off by then end of the show and this is putting us on that trajectory.

It just felt like an episode of Archer, and without even checking I'm positive that the folks behind Archer are at least partially responsible for it.

I loved it.

Yeah I laughed more at that then pretty much any other joke this season. Still not entirely sure if there's any reason to go animated other than it was easier than securing Seth Rogan for more than the hour it would've taken for him to do his lines.

I don't really agree with this. Rafi and Randy together have always been pretty over-the-top. So much so that for how that whole story-line played out, I can't see them doing it any other way than animated. Unless they wanted to blow a whole season's budget on Rafi's bee dick and Randy's beating heart, I guess. Not to mention, having the actress portraying Sofia (I forget her name) playing dead while they use her as a human shield/plank might be a bit too much even for this show. I did think it was a great touch that she had a head wound showing while laying in the coffin.

I have a real love hate with Randy and Rafi. When it works, it's amazing. Like when D. Sanders busts in on them shooting a porno. But some of it is just a bit too much.

Alright episode but Pete was an actor advertiser the whole time. Seems like the future of TV, one actor and all his lines will pertain to a product and relate to the story tangentially.

Yeah, but at least everyone else in the group hated on Pete's poo poo instead of a chorus full of agreements. The League might have taken ad money but they're not quite embracing it.

I can't believe I'm defending the show, but Devil's Advocate - Taco is universally seen as an idiot and a purveyor of bad ideas. Agreeing with Taco is not something to aspire to. Everyone else shat on Pete and they went out of their way to make Pete's declarations of it all annoying as hell. It feels like they agreed to take the money and advertise for the company, but in a pretty tongue in cheek way. It reminds me of Frisky Dingo being told to put an ad for the Scion tC on the show and just saying "gently caress, whatever" and running it into the ground.

That all said, even if the showrunners did take the money and try to put as lovely a spin on it as possible as a middle finger to ad companies it's way too in the face and grating to ever be anything but fingernails on chalkboard. Nothing good can ever, ever come of this sort of advertising and the fact that it's the new standard is depressing.

There was a slim window where you could be all meta about your in-content advertising, and that window was Wayne's World.

The second time they did a Draftkings bit, and included it as a joke (taco was doing Ruxins lineup I think and he was listing off the players and one of them was the DK banner ad), it was genuinely funny and worked. Shoehorning a reference in to a random scene for no reason, not so much.

You're kidding yourself if you think this is playing out anyway other than what Draftkings wanted. It's pretty clear they are setting Draftkings up as The League's savior after getting booted from their current system. Just wait. Everyone will be all like, "You know what, we had it all wrong. This is pretty great."
