So Gareth Thomas has HIV, but seems to be handling it well

quote:

Former Wales rugby captain Gareth Thomas has revealed he is HIV positive, saying he wants to "break the stigma" around the condition.

He said he wants to show how people with HIV are misrepresented as "walking around with walking sticks who are close to dying".

He has also spoken about "shame" and "fear" of keeping his condition secret.

Other than waking at 06:00 to take a single pill every day and visiting the hospital for blood tests every six months, the condition has little impact on day-to-day life for Thomas.

On the contrary, he is taking part in an Ironman challenge on Sunday, which has involved him learning to swim, which to Thomas was a way of demonstrating his physical and mental strength.

Good on him for trying to dispel some of the ignorance surrounding HIV.

The 1014 video series has been touching on pod structure this last week. As a rugby layman, fascinating stuff to see how tactics compare. This video goes over both NZ and England's tactics briefly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiKHZe_u80o

E: Still, I'd appreciate a write-up on pods

Hah, I recognised that concept for England straight away from this video when he was with Japan

It's a brave choice at his age but the right one before he CTE's his way to Parkinsons or something.

You've changed your tune since that radio interview you did in Edinburgh :colbert:

Huge shame Denton had to retire though but completely understandable, especially now he has a kid.

Rob Howley has been sent home from Japan after allegedly breaking rules on gambling on rugby matches.
He's been replaced in Japan by Stephen Jones. Any chance our attack will get better now someone else is in charge of that area?

I should point out, I assume the Stephen Jones they are referring to is the rugby coach, not the idiot of a journalist.
