Scotland are not bad, but they have a talent of playing slgithly worse than their opponents, they can be slightly worse than New Zealand and slightly worse than Italy in the same year. Whilst I hope we do crush those colonial lackey's I can easily see us playing slightly worse than them.

This.

It is a source of utter amazement that Scotland can be slightly worse than NZ - who are effectively invincible - then proceed to be slightly worse than Italy.

You can watch Scotland, but you will never understand Scotland.

He played Leinster as exactly that though - an overly cautious conservative approach that basically did enough to win but that was it. Leinster specialised in closing down the game to crippllingly boring levels, but as soon as any team tried anything different or get in their face Leinster fell to bits.

I'm not surprised that Ireland are now suffering from similar issues. Joe is a good coach, but he's too hesitant in approach.

I'm disappointed Joubert hosed us, but I'm glad Scotland showed the ability and mentality to make that a close game they almost won. Everyone had written us off for this game and we defied the odds.

Can go out as the only NH team to be a point off a SH team.

I just hope we can carry this on to the Six Nations.

Lol Eddie loving Jones. Talk about a panic buying decision.

Communist Bear
Oct 7, 2008

It's a poor decision but it probably generally reflects the lack of coaching options England has at the moment and also the general mood toward taking up the role. Eddie's pretty much a safe option for the RFU; if he succeeds it'll be a pleasant surprise, if he fails the RFU will write it off as an example of England needing a homegrown coach to bring out the best in England blah blah blah.

Whether Japan's success was thanks to Eddie or not is unsure - after all if Japan had lost against South Africa we wouldn't have been talking about them.

I've long since stopped giving a gently caress to be honest. We're going to get the wooden spoon again, for the same rhyme and reasons we get it every year - poor leadership, poor composure, poor decision making.

I've said this for many years now though so you know what, gently caress it. Go gently caress yourself Scotland. I'm done.

Communist Bear

That they weren't threatening is not surprising. Funnily enough for all my complains about Eddie Jones, it occurred to me the day before playing that he has a point about making England tough bullies. It then occurred to me then and there that Scotland wouldn't win because our players are the complete antithesis of this. None of them look threatening, aggressive or (and I realise we shouldn't be supporting this) willing to play dirty.

I've already said that talking ourselves up is a stupid act, so that's all I'm really going to say anymore. I'm tired of watching us try and fail in six nations campaigns. If we don't manage to at least get to 4th this year we should be relegated and another team should take our place.

Glasgow annihilated Zebre last night with a ten try 70-10 victory. The repercussions for the Italian clubs could be quite damaging though as there's mutterings of them being removed from the Pro 12 due to their incapability.

They've basically all but exiled Sean Lineen and told him to gently caress off. The man that managed to grow and build Glasgow into the championship winning team it is today has basically been all but caste out now by the fuckwit cuntheads at Edinburgh PLC.

I'm looking forward to the day the SRU is finally burnt to the loving ground.

Does anyone actually know what the circumstances of Finn's injury was? it sounds nightmarish, but I didn't see the replay nor has there been any real information on what exactly happened?

Huw Jones just signed a two year deal to move to Glasgow, rumours being that Bennett is moving on. Not a bad replacement and gives Huw more time the Scotland backs.

Bennett moving on isn't too big a deal, it's probably time he picked up some skills at a bigger league elsewhere.

I think we're more worried about Finn moving on as we don't have solid replacements for him yet. Ideally we'll probably be looking to train another Scottish guy.

Yeah Son-of-Hastings might be pretty good if he's giving some game time.

It's a shame that Favaro and Strauss will be going. Strauss in particular is a big fun guy who really settled into Glasgow quickly. It's always fun to watch four people jump on him in an effort to stop him.

Only than 2 occasions (what the gently caress Hogg/Russell), Scotland didn't Scotland it at all. We took the game to France pretty well and it could have went either way if we hadn't hosed up our kicking game.

Scrum is really concerning though.

No embarrassment in losing though, first time I sensed a very different looking Scotland even in defeat. Didn't look any different to Wales, Ireland or England losing against France. But we really must sort the scrum and decision making. Also for gently caress sakes Hogg offload the ball if you have numbers you retard.

So how badly does today impact Russell's Lions bid?

What everyone else said - I don't think he's that high up on the list. He might be called up and given an off game, but there's other players ahead of him in the queue.

Blergh we're losing Strauss and Reid. The new guy is going to have his work cut out for him. Hope we have a good transfer budget so we can bring in some new guys.

Bennett going to Edinburgh is going to kill off his career. It's a bit weird how much he's fallen out of favour.
