Orcs - Great all around team. You get high armor, lots of skills and a big guy if you want him Necro - Tons of versatility and resiliency. You can pretty much build them into any type of team that you want to make them into.

Chaos can play the ball just as well if you build them that way, it just takes them a lot longer to get to that point since you have to skill up some players first. Orcs are far better at it right out of the box though. Leveling up a Chaos team is so painful, they just have no skills at all, which means early on you can't really play the ball very well and you can't really bash very well since none of your players have block yet.

I keep seeing that the AI is bad and teaches you bad habits but can I get some examples of those bad habits? Watching agent's new LP is making me want to play again and I already own the first BB. Does the new game improve the AI in any noticeable way?

the bad habits are mostly about teaching you to think human players are as dumb as the ai. the ai doesnt punish bad play like a human will.

There has been some AI improvement since BB:CE, such as caging and awareness of the sideline, and some semblance of "I should score". But the AI lacks ability and knowledge of the meta level of Blood Bowl. For example, you'll never see the AI punt the ball downfield to buy time for faster nimble players to get around and secure the ball from what was otherwise a bad field position. The AI will not target and mercilessly foul your +STR piece. Trolls will often try to blitz up on their own without a teammate nearby. In fact, there's a lot of order of operation stuff the AI seems to struggle with. I think the most meta thing I've seen the AI do was create a Chorf team of Hobgoblins. I might be confusing that with BB:CE though.

Always play against other people, If you lose 2 matches you will eventually get paired against other people who are losing/have low TV. Like the infamous teams with 0 rerolls and BIGGUY first move.

it's up to you ultimately but i'd consider a niggle to be way better than loner - especially when you talk about having block as part of the deal. the main risk you run is getting an MVP on the guy before you can fire him, but honestly if he gets an MVP/levels up you can see what his levelup is and maybe reconsider firing him. a niggle is not the worst thing in the world.

I wouldn't fire a niggled player with a skill that early in a team's development (unless it was something like a Norse lino). Avoid developing him any further if you can and replace him when you've got several more skilled dudes... Unless he ends up leveling again and getting a doubles skill or AG/ST up.

I'm on the same plan. Niggled players without any special distinguishing features should be replaced in the long-term, but it's not an instant career-ender like strength loss. Fire them when you have the money to do so and try not to use them as scorers in the mean time.

Second question: all the things I've seen say to use linesmen as wrestling strippers even though catchers seem like they'd be better at that role due to their more reliable leap. Does a -2db vs a 1db make that much of a difference? Or is it more that the catcher would immediately eat 8 boots to the face on turn 1? e: what I'm trying to say is that I loving hate AG3 dodging and it's even better when no dodge skill exists for leaps. gonadic io fucked around with this message at 22:48 on Sep 18, 2017 |

Wrestle / Strip Ball catcher will probably do the job fairly well early on when any pile of dice without a skull does the trick, but if you end up playing against carriers with sure hands he's going to struggle to do his job. You also have the issue where your catchers aren't as fast as the analogous pieces that normally get built for the job.

This weekend i made a chaos team where I picked up the mino and his first game, I got a touchback and decided to big guy ball. Taking his touchdown in that game and his next oppenents taking a dirt nap as a sign from nuffle i handed him the ball in his second game. Repeatedly. Three touchdowns worth repeatedly. I like this cow.

So I was looking at all the mixed teams last night and I think someone needs to run a mixed team league. 1000TV start so things only start moderately wacky. I don't have the organizational skills to run a league or I'd do it myself.

There'll be streams tomorrow and next sat which will inevitably be crowded , but I'm trying to get some games before then.
