Ask any American television show that gets its schedule interrupted or timeslot moved how well they recover from it. A weekly series that isn't weekly will lose viewers.

In fact if you want to be honest about it it's an entirely necessary explanation. Super Saiyan transformations quite literally can't just be triggered by being super angry or else Goten and Trunks would make no sense and Gohan and Goku's thing about doing a Super Saiyan Without Pissy Rage Issues wouldn't either. "How did Goten and Trunks transform if they never got their rage boners on" is conveniently and comfortably explained by "they can do it because there's an easier method that's easy to figure out once you know what Super Saiyan is."

I always assumed that with Saiyans the issue was that they were a warrior race who blew through soldiers like they were tissue paper and none of them really lasted long enough to get beyond the early stages because they were all assholes who either effortlessly stomped their enemies or got super-killed.

HGH posted:I'll admit, I was one of the "Japanese Goku is not my Goku!" people for a long time but for some reason Nozawa really grew on me the past 2 years, heck everyone else too. So now I can enjoy both language tracks as much as the other. Nozawa really got a chance to shine with Goku Black and when Sean isn't bad from what little we've heard I don't think British rear end in a top hat works quite as well.

extra row of teeth posted:I still think Krillin is Yamcha-ier just because his primary roles are to be 1) the lowest tier of Z-Fighter jobber and 2) the male damsel in distress who only gets significant airtime to lose/die dramatically and set Goku off (this arc being the exception, of course). Tien is also in the lowest tier of jobber, but he just doesn't give off that helpless vibe Yamcha and Krillin do when they're outmatched. Speaking of jobbers, Z-fighter B team's turtle-up strategy has been boring so far and I hope that Piccolo gets to break away and do something cool besides be Gohan's meatshield. Vegeta isn't going to get ringed out before he gets a big focus. He's too popular for it. (Plus "Vegeta is basically jacking himself off" is 70% of vegeta's screentime.)
