My town has a rampantly increasing homeless population. Many of them are mentally ill and addicted to meth or heroine. Home break-ins, car thefts and murders have been higher this year than any other year in history. The people are sharpening their pitchforks because it's basically the last resort. We've spent millions on homeless shelters, public housing, addiction recovery programs, but they're just not being used. Police-escorted social workers go to the homeless camps twice a week, but the services are still not being used. No one feels safe anymore.
