This a good crow study:

Crows and their relatives — among them ravens, magpies and jays — are renowned for their intelligence and for their ability to flourish in human-dominated landscapes. That ability may have to do with cross-species social skills. In the Seattle area, where rapid suburban growth has attracted a thriving crow population, researchers have found that the birds can recognize individual human faces.

Like they literally could've just dubbed these noises into the Jurassic Park Movies. They don't chirp, they bellow and rumble :stare:

Also in nature the cassowary mom ditches the chicks once they hatch and the cassowary dad ends up raising them.

Best crow research story is when researchers wearing nixon masks attacked and annoyed certain crows.

The interesting thing is over time crows not part of the experiment reacted angrily to the nixon mask, showing crows have some form of communication.

There's only one known case of a cassowary killing a human, and in that case the bird got lucky severing some kid's artery with a kick.

Usually I think goons overexaggerate but I have literally never been around a goose that wasn't a biting, hissing, territorial rear end in a top hat.

well during the nesting season they get even more crazy and territorial.

to add insult to injury Canadian geese aren't even tasty like pheasants or grouse.

Hawks/birds of prey are awesome :black101: My house is surrounded by huge pastures and after they cut the grass there are mice and whatever everywhere, so for days after there are hawks just circling around and gorging. You can get pretty close and they'll still come down, it's neat but kind of :stare: because drat they're really pretty big when you get up close.

My fav hawk story is a time a saw one taking a nap on a tree branch. A crow flew down and bit him on the rear end, then flew away.

Crows are pretty hilarious assholes
