The benefits are that rich people get tax cuts and less regulations, the justifications are a bunch of vague hand-wavy bullshit invented to support policies that make the rich even richer. If you point out that there's no real-world evidence of this actually working anywhere, supporters will just claim that they didn't cut taxes enough, or there's a "vast liberal conspiracy" to cherry-pick data to make it look like a failure, or they haven't given it enough time to see the true results, etc.
