My prediction is this will be a tiny step above playing deathmatch or battlefield style crap where the best way to play, or at least the way everyone will play outside of a tiny either upper or lower percentile of the skill base, will be nothing like how you would want multiplayer Metal Gear to play. https://www.quakelive.com https://www.reflexfps.com https://www.counterstrike.com

I'm going to guess that it'll be the worst players since judging from youtube comments and poo poo I seen about it you'd have to have a dedicated server with 20 house rules in order to stop people from playing it like a normal rear end game.

I'm probably just going to play as bog standard assault rifle guy because that's what I play in every other online shooter, but I'll definitely give each class a chance to see if there's any cool metal gear spin on them to make them more fun.

Can you use shields in MGO? I basically never did during the main game but laying down some smg suppressing fire from behind a shield might be fun.

i used slug conversion to great success against both guards and players, and the air conversion worked just as well against guards but i never had a chance to try it against another player, because the nonlethal weapon of choice against players is the sleep grenade launcher

I actually spent at least a few weeks in college playing MGO and tried pretty hard to embrace it as something I could love. It wasn't very good, but it did impart some good metal gear flavor from time to time. I usually would just only use the mosin-nagant tranq sniper and just put people to sleep all game and drop porn mags all around. I'm likely to try the same approach with this newest iteration but I think it will be *toilet flush sfx*

Most of the people I know who hates MGO were not capable of getting one kill. Meanwhile I was sporting the tranq pistol for headshots only.

All of the prerelease demos and interviews and stuff indicates that they put a lot of effort into making the different modes revolve around awareness of your team, and utilizing your teammates skills to supplement your own, etc, which will certainly be ignored by the majority of the community.
