Twitch chat is poo poo always, sure, but we have ways of dealing with trolls and they better hope for their own sake those measures are never employed against them. In fact, I think I will host a panel at TwitchCon 2016 to discuss Anti-Troll strategies and host a Q&A.

This game is getting some positive write-ups for bringing "immersive dread" and "evoking primal, almost worrying levels of emotion and fear", and also pretty short in terms of overall length: http://store.steampowered.com/app/398180/ of course it may be an actually good game which is well outside the Coffee Corps wheelhouse

Hi Geop, Thank you for asking me to peer-review this thread. I'm not sure where exactly you want me to submit this review, but hopefully I don't accidentally post it in the thread where everyone can see it. Submission 8008542069 Title: Let's Play Horror Games While Wearing A Fitbit How would the reviewer rate their level of expertise in the subject? As a real scientist who has assisted in conducting human subjects studies in which a FitBit was utilized as a sensor, I consider myself an expert in this subject. Does the reviewer have any conflict of interest? The first author, Judge Reinhold, recently recommended me a delicious chili recipe that I greatly enjoyed. However, I also hate let's play, fun, and video games, so I think it balances out. Article Summary: This paper presents a study of nebulously-defined "horror" ""games"" and their effect on human heart rate in real time, as played. The authors record the participant's heart rate as he plays through a game, recording both the game and the heart rate, which is later annotated after each session. Reviewer comments to the author(s): While the premise of this study suggests a worthwhile scientific contribution, the experimental design requires strong revision. In my previous experiences with a FitBit, it was thrown out of a study on young adult exercise due to its unreliable measure of heart rate, as well as inaccurate measure of physical exercise repetitions. A large amount of data will be required to overcome the error rate of the sensor. Additionally, while it is important to pilot experimental protocols, more than 1 participant is required for a full publication. The authors' controversial stance on p-values is likely to worsen the already-raging argument within the scientific community on the value of statistical analyses, so this reviewer would suggest softening this language. Confidential comments to the editor(s): Seriously, though -- where did you even find these charlatans? I would have thought a paper like this would have already gotten rejected without having to go to peer review. Are you guys even reading these? Recommendation: Accept without Revision

They say what scares people the most, is the unknown. The things science cannot explain, the shadows that lurk at the edge of our vision, that are beyond our mortal comprehension. The unknown........ or should I say........... ... NOT THE EXPLAINABLE "two marines were looking for the terrorists together but one of the marines get shot and turns into a ghost with a grate desire to avenge his death ghost finds out that his friend has a son named Nathan and tries to get him to loose his mind" Can you loosen your mind and open up room in your heart for TERROR and ALSO HORROR?

The end result usually winds up this scattershot spray of nonsense that you'd need to be Philip K. Dick or a conspiracy blogger to make sense of.

There are lots of people, who by all means are as intelligent and socially adept as the rest of us, who are just really bad at writing stories. Some people just can't get over the child-like error of assuming the audience knows as much about the story as they do. They no doubt have some narrative in their head that ties it all together, but when they put it down on paper (or, in this case, on Unity) they don't transcribe it perfectly, and they fail to see all the inconsistencies because it all makes sense in their heads.

TVTropes is also categorization for the sake of categorization, without any actual understanding going on, from my experience. There's something like four cheese-themed trope pages, and one of them is just "cheese appeared in this work of fiction at some point", as opposed to "this cheese played a role in the plot", as opposed to "the cheese has magical powers in the text"

The My Bones clearly belonged to beloved comic actor Robin Williams, which I think is in poor taste. The developer should be ashamed of their poorly-translated cash-in. That is to say, welcome back Java Joes!
