The Kaiju fights in Ultraman Orb could be shadow puppets for the rest of the series and its comedic writing alone would still keep it amongst the best modern tokusatsu ever made. The entire restaurant scene killed me.

Yeah my only complaint with the Mach half of the special was that they made the spinoff novel basically required reading. Or at least you had to know the broad strokes of it.
