it turns out i'm 1/16 Cherokee. it came as quite a shock when i found out. i had to struggle with a lot of very difficult questions about my racial identity, like whether or not i should continue to identify myself as a "white man"

oh yeah my grandparents had a son out of wedlock who they then gave up for adoption before getting married and having my dad so i have a long-lost uncle somewhere i guess
