I think the latter half of this episode was a lot stronger than the front half. The front half felt kinda amateurish and rushed. The back half was a lot more riveting with the twists and turns. I don't think I'll ever not hate Waller's dumb plots, but I actually she was more like this -- smarmy and wicked -- last season.

That...that was actually amazing. Everything in the episode was good. I know about as much about business as Felicity apparently does, so I actually liked her plot. I...like...Felicity again? What is this emotion. The fight scenes alone put the season 3 finale to shame.

There were a bunch of pretty good jokes that landed well in the episode, which is more than you can say for the majority of s3. Oliver going "Self-defense classes!" (which is, hey, technically true) when he threw a guy off a balcony was great. I even laughed at Felicity's "da bomb" schtick.

I will say it's a little ridiculous that Dahrk is coercing Lance's cooperation by threatening to attack his daughter, aka the vigilante that's going out every night to attack Dahrk. What happened to the Canary cry, anyway?

This episode was loving amazing. Easily at season 2 quality, if not even slightly better. ...though to be honest I spent most of it being annoyed at Oliver wearing the same ugly maroon shirt for days on end... But still. Please keep this up.

Well, frankly, slowly forming a team and becoming less dark and brutal over time is a quintessential part of Batman's narrative, as well. ...What I'm basically saying is that Arrow's probably gonna be a Batman clone to the bitter end.

I think the one thing that's not quite clicking with me this season is the constant reliance on the whole "I'm afflicted with murderous raaaAaaAAAAGE!" device that they just keep on using episode after episode with Thea and now with Sara. I liked the episode where they first realized this about Thea because it led to some cool moments between her and Ollie and also to that sickass fight between her and Anarky, but at this point the charm of seeing someone wallop mooks in an uncontrollable rage while someone else shouts "No, that's enough! Stop it!" has worn off. Especially since, if you think about it, this is basically the same exact thing as that Mirakuru rage thing that Roy had.
