Condition Duration is only effective up to 100%, so classes with all the bonus duration traits they need would go over the cap with full Viper's gear. Condi Ranger, Thief, and Revenant don't actually hit 100% because they don't have the right trait bonuses (or in Ranger's case, any at all) so they're full Viper.

The new Ele elite spec will have no cooldown on attunment swap or weapon skills and no animation times on abilities either, so your only limit will be how fast you can hammer keys. I would suggest investing in a mechanical keyboard if you want to stay competitive.

That sword has been in the game files since Heart of Thorns launched, but it looks like they recolored it at some point because it seemed more blueish in those leaks. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fargate_Opener

Tempest was at one point in development getting Sword for its elite spec weapon, so if You Want To Believe then they might just be reusing whatever art work went towards that before.

The tier 1 armor is https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Triumphant_armor and is currently available through a reward track. The tier 2 armor can be previewed in the wardrobe but is currently unavailable: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Triumphant_Hero%27s_armor But the article makes it sound like you'll buy it with Grandmaster Crafting marks and some new currency like the PvP ascended. Mistforged Weapons were from the tournaments they stopped doing a while ago, but they re-added the not as flashy Hero versions of them in another reward track. Skirmishes are 2-hour increments with the actual Victory Point scoring happening at the end. Victory Points on the left. If they made 'fighting other groups' an actual requirement of WvW then most of the playerbase would quit.

The T3 WvW armor looks good but you have to be upwards of rank 1500 to buy it. e never mind it's just the t2 set with extra shine and some bits you can't dye. That rating requirement increases by 100 down the line (2000 for the chest.) Maybe it has a particle effect that doesn't render in the preview? The new rewards are Good but adding the long-term reward structure to WvW 5 years after launch is a little awkward. And it doesn't look like they've learned what the sPvP team has (or are unwilling to apply it yet) since the final tier repeatable Ranked PvP chest now keeps rewarding Ascended Shards of Glory, but you don't get any more tickets repeating the WvW one. Though it resets weekly so that might be less "wasted" effort.

Nektu posted:Why do build like these use celestial gear instead of specialising? The inflated total stat values on Celestial is strong in PvP for classes like Guardian and Elementalist who have good access to incidental conditions and healing, especially with lots of Might stacks since you double dip it with hybrid damage setups. It was strong enough in general that they had to take it out of sPvP because it was loving everything up, along with all the 'more defensive stats than not' amulets.

The crafting material volumes follow a rough tiering based on handedness (2h > onehand > offhand) but some of the costs are out of whack because of whatever adjustments to match the values at the time, and how things have changed in value since, e.g. you can probably blame Leaf of Kudzu and The Lover's outstanding crafting costs on t5 leather and wood shooting up in price with Heart of Thorns. But even then the best profit margins are on the popular/expensive precursors. The real annoying part is they also tried to make the ~legendary journey~ feel special with all the collections, so the sudden 'gently caress you pay me' parts feel odd, where the post-Colin HoT precursors are more honest.

frajaq posted:I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually had fun playing a bit of PvP today. How are Rangers supposed to play in it? Power Ranger/Druid is pretty classic but has sort of fallen behind to builds that are more consistent (spammy), also Druid isn't full of traits that make you great at power burst damage and elite specs run the show now. https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Druid_-_Power_Druid This setup uses the pets for extra burst. The top-end use for Druid is a support and has to kite enemies while relying more on pets to kill, but it's great for denying decaps and showing up uninvited to fights with burst healing and some damage. https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Druid_-_Bunker_Druid

You can just slot Locust Signet for 25% movespeed, the active effect doubles as an emergency heal pretty well since it scales with how many targets it hits and you're more likely to need it when over-pulling. Guardians are advised to re-roll a different class for current PvE content.

The benefits of the actually higher effort Chaos Chronomancer are mostly covered by having Nature Magic healing Druids, and I'd be interested to see how you got more personal DPS without Domination or Sword/Focus phantasms.

The only hard part about Condi Rev rotation is trying not to interrupt your autoattack chain before the third hit since it flips through pretty fast with quickness. That and being more melee dependent than condi Reaper, Berserker, and Ranger. I wouldn't run it on VG since you can't go to circles as well and the speed boost mushrooms destroy projectiles, which includes your Jalis hammers, nor Deimos if people do the ranged camping to avoid oils. Haven't tried Xera with it and don't see any real advantage immediately besides emergency boonstrip. Does fine on Matthias if you don't want to set up a condi Mesmer, might be decent on Samarog since he's big enough to stay in fields but wiggles around a lot for Torment. nessin posted:Speaking of Rev's, is Centaur stance useful anywhere? I'm not going to bother buying up gear and learning the skills if it's useless but if it can actually do a meaningful job in WvW I may take the time to learn. Mostly places where you need excessive amounts of projectile destruction, e.g. with good timing you can solo block all of the Vinewrath Thrasher champion guy's wipe missiles. Actually trying to heal people with the tablet is frustrating since it seems the instinct is to move out of piles or run around erratically once you start getting low. People swear by it in WvW now and then but it's a lot easier to just have Revenants do their boon spam and cleave while Eles handle healing by walking around and farting.

Sword Thief kind of sucks overall, but dagger/dagger condition and staff power are top tier PvE DPS builds. Dagger/pistol is the typical PvP setup.

The previously leaked maps follow the Brand south to some extent, so naming it something about that seems legit. Since it's the last LS release before the expansion coming up they've probably got a trailer ready like last time.

OzFactor posted:I guess that makes the first stop Amnoon Oasis, if we're sailing there. I was just comparing the big GW2 map (this one) with the GW1 Crystal Desert map (here) and I noticed that it if Kralkatorrik is sitting where the brand stops (i.e. the big purple splotch on the map), it looks like he's sitting right on top of the Tomb of the Primeval Kings. So, obviously, we're getting Tombs / HA PvP. And that we're going to team up with Palawa Joko to raid the Tombs. If you saw the leaks of the new maps, Tomb of the Primeval Kings is there, along with The Dragon's Lair all Branded up. Unfortunately in the latest AMA we were told "We're not holding onto PvP or WvW feature updates for the expansion. We'll continue to ship them live." by MO, so look forward to doing a story mission instance there and never returning.

He switches between Horrik's cannon, the Archdiviner's hammer (Entropy), and I think a Peacemaker's Staff. The challenge mode is pretty good/intense but can get frustrating when he cancels attacks into each other, phases sync up disastrously, or an unseen force hits everyone for 30,000+ damage as he gets below 20%.

tyblazitar posted:I skimmed the update notes and it seems that most classes haven't seen too big changes in terms of builds for endgame PvE? With the Warrior banner change, are most raid groups still running double warr, or is one enough now? Double Warrior is still meta because their might generation and Empower Allies are only 5 targets, but the banner change makes it easier to get extra damage or CC. You can use other might bot builds but Warrior is strong otherwise so it's hard to beat.

Eltoasto posted:For what content? I prefer druid over tempest for open world stuff, but both are quite capable. For raiding a ranger can be a druid healer, condi dps, or a condi dps that also does splash heals. I believe the condi dps with splash heals is popular for fractals, while tempest is pretty much a glass cannon dps, though very good at it. Tempest also has desirable healing and condi builds. The condition setup is kind of limited (no cc, don't leave fire attunement!) but healing auramancer Tempest is useful for when you need consistent heal spamming from Soothing Mist and water attunement staff autos etc. By comparison Druid healing is burstier due to Celestial Avatar. I try to stick with Fresh Air builds when possible since it makes hopping through Earth and Water for utility a lot smoother.
