That's a great graph. It makes a point through hyperbole and intentionally chooses a poor informational layout to make its point more visually striking. Good communication skills.

Maybe it's just because I took too much math in college, but this chart communicates a rather complicated notion(assuming it uses any sort of meaningful data) pretty effectively, and I'd certainly ding it for style, the substance seems really good.

However, I also know that it doesn't necessarily turn you into a sad, depressed sack of tears for the rest of your life. People can move past it, and heal. But seriously. It's not a joke.

Something about the cops not wanting to hurt their name or record with unsolved cases, so they would just avoid having a tough case to solve in the first place. Man, combined with what I've learned about Japan's legal system from playing video games, it sounds like they're just full of perverse incentives.

Bird in a Blender posted:That huge drop appears to mostly be because of lack of property wealth. Younger people either can't afford to buy property because prices are too high, or if they did buy property, values have not gone up. Older generations were able to buy cheaper property and then values have skyrocketed over the last couple of decades. It's the accumulation of wealth by very few individuals that started in an era where social mobility was still possible. It's not that boomers are well off, it's that the people who are well off happen to be boomers.
