I was surprised to see silver resistance as a stat since it's werewolves who are known for having that weakness. Then I remembered that many cultures consider silver to be a bane against supernatural baddies of all sorts. It's one of the reasons vampires don't have a reflection when they look in a mirror

I'm pretty sure the babypin is just a safety pin. They're commonly used to secure cloth diapers, after all.
