I think the only competitive archer build I saw was when the archer dropped the bow and just stabbed people with the arrows.

Synthbuttrange
May 6, 2007

I was worried about that. 48 was an achievable number. 64 was a bit of a stretch and took a while to fill the last time.

Whats this? People are coordinating? Ridiculous!

Synthbuttrange
May 6, 2007

Aw man I was sure a naked strangler with a knife was the way to go. At least he got a lot of stabs in.

Synthbuttrange
May 6, 2007

Oh god I missed the chance to spend 50 points

I'm not looking forward to this:

This Bites
Knife Toseeu, a female Strangler fighter managed by me.
Sun Tzulander the Philomodel, a male Elf fighter managed by Keru.
Roland Gorchnik, a male Human fighter managed by Maarak.
Eyeteeth IV, a male Werewolf fighter managed by Revenant Threshold.

This Bites has a record of no victories and 3 losses.

VS

Go big and/or go home
Snowshank Redemption, a male Yeti fighter managed by A good poster.
Tyler Durden is Hobbes, a male Tigerman fighter managed by Iunnrais.
3 Wolf Moon Shirt, a male Werewolf fighter managed by iLonie.
Slam Whale Willy, a male Werewolf fighter managed by potatomanjack.

My tactic of selling off all my gear to invest in spears is repaid with instant death.

When creatures cry in dwarf fortress, it's modelled as a coating of tears on their eyes. A coating of sweat appears when they work out. This leads to hilarious bugs.

quote:

[Masterwork] My dwarves are sweating boulders, is that normal? (self.dwarffortress)

So in my fort, I have some weight benches I have my militia use to improve their stats, but lately it's been producing "sweat", like hundreds of these blue boulders that make it into my stone stockpile. I even noticed that one of my stone crafters had been making crafts out of sweat. Is this normal, or what broke to cause this and what can I do to fix it?
Also what could be related, rubble is no longer boiling away to nothing and is instead producing boulders.

Make sure temperature is turned on. It is what causes these things to boil away.

[–]Battlesheep[S] 3 points 2 years ago
Ah, yeah, I recently turned it off to improve FPS, that must be it.

Losing isnt so bad if you at least get a kill, Knife.

Punc Hant (CRAP) punches Tash Al'rhyn (Spooky Scary) in the right hand with its first left hand, jamming the bone through the right wrist's muscle and shattering the right wrist's bone!

Synthbuttrange
May 6, 2007

Also whats up with Punc's deadly fists? Are exoskeletons an advantage here?

Synthbuttrange
May 6, 2007

Unless they've let their points build up a heap, there's not much to realistically mess up.

Unless you intend to sell all their gear then bet on the opposing team.

Jesus christ we're only on round 11 of 18.

Poor Punc.

quote:

Anthony (Laser Explosion) punches Punc Hant (CRAP) in the head with his left hand and the injured part explodes into gore!
An artery has been opened by the attack!
Punc Hant (CRAP) has been knocked unconscious!
Punc Hant (CRAP) has been struck down

This is the only mention of Punc in the logs at all. :allears:

Synthbuttrange
