Yeah, for those of you who haven't checked out Lenny YouTubes before, these moments when the telemarketers finally realize they're talking to a recording (or finally try to bail from the conversation) tend to be like at least 10 minutes into the call if not far more

Too bad he started to lose his balance and had to lean back to keep from falling off his board. Too bad.

On the one hand, she has a legit reason to call and it might be pretty serious. On the other, her confusion around why Lenny is the one answering the phones there is hilarious.

The comment heard is "that's some straight batman poo poo!".

My work involves a load of chainsaw work. Where I am training and PPE are mandatory. The things were originally designed to knaw through human bones. Plus they can kickback at your face if you're an idiot, plus trees like to splinter and decapitate people. Luckily the worst thing I've done is crush a bin. So far...

monkeytennis posted:Really?? Yeah, I had to look that up because I didn't believe it, but Wikipedia backs it up: quote:The origin is debated, but a chainsaw-like tool was made around 1830 by the German orthopaedist Bernhard Heine. This instrument, the osteotome, had links of a chain carrying small cutting teeth with the edges set at an angle; the chain was moved around a guiding blade by turning the handle of a sprocket wheel. As the name implies, this was used to cut bone. The prototype of the chain saw familiar today in the timber industry was pioneered in the late 18th century by two Scottish doctors, John Aitken and James Jeffray, for symphysiotomy and excision of diseased bone respectively. The chain hand saw, a fine serrated link chain which cut on the concave side, was invented around 1783-1785. It was illustrated in Aitken's Principles of Midwifery or Puerperal Medicine (1785) and used by him in his dissecting room. Jeffray claimed to have conceived the idea of the chain saw independently about that time but it was 1790 before he was able to have it produced. The first one for lumber wasn't designed until 1918.

My understanding is that people spiking trees is a particularly heinous practice from the POV of the poor schmuck wielding the chainsaw because what happens is 1) the chain breaks on the spike 2) the side of the chain being pulled into the motor (the bottom one facing your body) whips off the blade and wraps itself around your waist

Proper practice is to never have anything other than the hands holding the saw inline with the bar and chain Finally a subject I know!

Pretty sure he can't actually see it because the curve of the transition is blocking it. Everyone who moves is standing slightly to the side of him and is taller than him.
