Depends on the cats - are they easy to get into small carriers or do they put up a fight? Can they share a carrier?

A low tech solution might be putting a shoulder strap on the carriers - just gotta figure a way that would be strong and hold.

I used to use 2 approved to fly with carriers that were like special duffle bags for cats. However, my cats are not easy to put in their carriers, and my vet recommended hard sided, and I realized a bigger carrier made for an easier fight. Now I just push on them and they're in.

I like some of those crazy cat lady pet strollers - if they'll share a carrier.

A tip: Have twisty ties on the zippers of the carriers. Cats can figure out how to move the zipper and the last thing you want is for them to escape in a stressful situation. You can secure the zippers by twisty tieing them together when you get somewhere safe if it's a true emergency.
