GC controls were good too. Used lock on to manage your aim in combat and held R to lock yourself in place and look around during exploration.

Agreed. I really would like to reexperience I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. Adventure games have like no replay value whatsoever.

did you actually beat that game without a guide i got super far into the zepplin/gas station one and it turned out i needed to do some inconsequential things in order to progress like i had to do some poo poo with the spilled poison wine i think which was like a bunch of areas back that i never wouldve thought of its redic good on you if you beat it i think ill just have to pick up the book for that one though

I think there's multiple endings depending on how fulfilled your character is at the end of each scenario. I beat it but I don't think I got the best ending.

The great thing about that game is that the puzzles may be obtuse as hell sometimes but you only have to worry about ten to fifteen screens at one time

you can finish the story in one sit down reading session. i recommend it.

I highly recommend playing the game though. It's way more fleshed out than the short story.

The game is impossible without a guide. You'd probably end up doing just as much reading either way.

As far as adventure games to it's pretty easy. It doesn't approach Sierra levels of bullshit by any means I don't think.

a good gimmick for a lets play series would be somebody with a deep sensual voice reading out adventure games as they play through them so its like half-audiobook/half-lp

A giant carnivorous dinosaur
I just realized that of my favorite games some of them are worst experiences in the beginning since they are a bit frustrating before you learn how to play, like monhun or dwarf fortress, and there is stuff like disgaea and stone soup that really don't matter if you know all about the game.
I think the first portal is the only game that would fit among my top 20 or so games.
