There was a moment in the 4th, where Kaep was sacked immediately two times in a row. And on the second one I think I could see his spirit completely break. He layed flat on the ground, buried his head in the turf and looked as though he wanted to just disappear in it. And since this was at Levi there was a 50/50 chance that might happen.

Phil Simms is awful. He has nothing insightful to say and is ruining Jim Nantz. The best part of that pairing is when Nantz gets sick of Simms and calls him on his bullshit.

To a degree, but I think he's really been slowed down by injuries. He's just not the player he was.

I wouldn't crown his tight rear end just yet. Preparing his team on a short week against a tough division opponent on the road will give us a better idea of how good he really is.

I wonder how they held the best front seven in football in check with such elite players like Josh Kline, David Andrews ,Tre Jackson and Cameron Fleming? Perhaps the 'ol ben gay on the jock strap? Expired Gatorade? Maybe sunspots? Gamma radiation? We'll never know I guess.

fsif posted:But somewhat more frustratingly, the defense has regressed, despite having mostly the same personnel from last year. It's still probably a top 10 unit, but last year it was arguably #2. Though the cornerbacks are unexpectedly playing lights out, the most expensive defensive line in football has been pretty pedestrian. Is it all scheme? Bad luck? Is Ryan just a mediocre coordinator? I think all but the most elite defenses will struggle when their offense cannot stay on the field. I bet the Bills defense will be fine again once they get Tyrod, Williams and Watkins back.

Anyway, that was the first complete Jets game I've watched this year, and I can't imagine that Geno Smith has any chance of reclaiming the starting job outside of an injury. Fitzpatrick is so much better I can't believe he wasn't named the starter before Smith got KO'd.
