I think it was even speculated (read:hoped) that they were the 2nd and 3rd suites of 1:Outside. On one hand, more Bowie. On the other, he's never ever ever topping Blackstar as a finale and I'd be bummed if the actual last album ends up being "eh" like about 1/4 of his albums.

I don't think we're getting anymore of Outside, there's an expanded edition on iTunes, just get that.

I think you could pretty easily make the case that Blackstar was his best album and Lazarus was his best song. Even if they do release more that will always be the finale for me.

I wouldnt be surprised if a handful of demos and sketches for a potential pt. 2 are released someday, I doubt there are completed songs though and certainly no part 3 other than maybe a vague outline

Cemetry Gator posted:They also started a retrospective box set series before his death that he had approved. So you're going to see a new one later this year, I'm betting (I'm guessing it will be the Berlin Trilogy with maybe Scary Monsters, but who knows). They are really good sets, but they don't have a ton in terms of material you can't find elsewhere. As a matter of fact they recently announced the newest one: http://www.davidbowie.com/news/new-career-new-town-1977-1982-57146 quote:DAVID BOWIE ‘A NEW CAREER IN A NEW TOWN (1977-1982)’

The "2017" version of Stage appears to just have two new tracks (Jean Genie and Suffragette City), so it seems really redundant to have the original in there too, but other than that that seems like a cool set. Messed up that Baal is only on the outtakes comp, though. I only have a couple Bowie records (got into collecting right before he died), and one is the Baal EP, which has some pretty great front and back artwork. The rest of that is pretty awesome though quote:Re:Call 3

Intrigued by the Lodger remix. For the past couple of years, it and Scary Monsters have been my goto Bowie albums.

More info about that in this post: https://bowiesongs.wordpress.com/2013/11/01/survive/

$225 is too much for this box set. They seem to be going downhill in price to actual value every set.
