Thank you.

Also last night one of the players discovered something a bit possibly OP which makes me think we've misread something somewhere:

Spoilers, can't remember whereabouts in the year these things appear so best only read if you've completed it!

The Soldier appears to be able to repeatedly pickup and use Binoculars to finish a Search track in like 1 or 2 turns.

Holy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

The Patient Zero search was completed ridiculously quickly; we used the Airdrop card or something similar to hot-drop him into City Zero before he repeatedly burned through the CDC's entire supply of reusable/one-shot Binoculars in a couple of turns. "Found him!")

As I recall you can do something similar with one of the relationships, rivals I think. It doesn't work nearly as smoothly, but it accomplishes the same goal of reusing binoculars to find what you need.

My group and I just finished June, and we finally gave our diseases proper names!

Hey quick question --- we have been sooooo concerned that we follow the rules that we haven't actually named any diseases. Like, this has been a contentious debate at the table. I think we should name them because there's a spot on the sticker, but I've let it go because it's really just aesthetics.

Was there a rule somewhere that we missed that said it's time to start naming the diseases?

Just won October. We've yet to open Box 8, and seeing as there's a maximum of 4 games left we won't ever open it.

... Do I want to know what's inside it? :ohdear:

Pretty sure there was a card a few months ago that tells you to open it if you haven't already.

It happens when you eradicate a disease, see the Treat Diseases rule. I think most groups miss that and just name all four diseases after Jan because it's more fun that way.

Nope, that's something different altogether.

Haha yeah we just did it for fun. Plus, saying "black disease" is like

Re opening box stuff: I think it was when we finished June that we hit the Legacy card that told us to open the "ONLY OPEN IF YOU'VE LOST 8(4?) GAMES IN A ROW" box, box 8, because that has to deal with equipping player cards, right? I don't have my game available so I can't check.

No, that's a different box altogether. Box 8 has 3 one-off cards that allow you to ignore an epidemic card altogether. It's not the equipping player card box

STRONG as an OX and TWICE as SMART
Box 8 is a large black box. It is not "flap 8", which is on one of the dossiers.

If I pretend to be Cthulhu no one will know I'm a baseball robot.
Just punched it out after 11 months of playing (one of our four went into labor after game 3 which slows things down)

Overall I quite liked it. We had one rules screwup which made things a bit harder we didn't completely scratch off the immunologist card so missed that we needed to open box 7 and were confused by team bravo, then went back and realized what had happened.

At the end we lost December attempt one to a completely ridiculous outbreak chain in South America, but waltzed home in take 2.

Final score was 876(?) for a Legendary finish

Final thought

I didn't mind the traitor twist? Like it was annoying as I was playing the soldier who had paramilitary escort during the game with the twist reveal but it was surmountable and restored some challenge.

It was originally a very stupid question, raised only because neither me nor my friends can read a single set of instructions properly :negative:

My group just lost the first half of October. We elected to take a break for the night, since tension's were high about how we were going to complete the objectives.

Some strategy discussion (October):

We may have screwed ourselves hard out of finding Patient Zero. Coda is black, and we kinda ruined the whole region. The Soldier turned traitor, our searching linchpin. City Zero is Delhi, it is fallen and does not have a military base on it. We were considering throwing the next game and focusing on just finding Patient Zero. We were thinking bring in the Ops Expert, parachute him into Delhi, and use him to build a military base to funnel people into the city.
