Flobbster posted:How did nobody notice the name at the bottom of that KKK list yet? Uhhh... having a sitting member of Congress in the KKK seems like a pretty big deal. Has any news outlet picked up on this alleged leak and has Wilson himself responded? I don't see any news articles about this.

Geoff Peterson posted:Yes. Please. Let's go down this path. I wasn't demanding Wilson resign. I was asking if any further details had come out regarding the allegations.

Ohio Update: http://www.cleveland.com/election-results/index.ssf/2015/11/statewide_results_for_ohio_iss.html quote:Here are the unofficial results for statewide issues from the Ohio Secretary of State's website. Latest update: 10:17 p.m. Looks like bittersweet defeat for Issue 3. Though Ohio has not legalized marijuana, the state avoided being subject to the whims of the Taft family, who would have had a monopoly on the sale of recreational marijuana. Issue 1 sets up a bipartisan commission to draw legislative boundaries. It isn't ideal, but it is better than the extremely shady and secretive redistricting process that took place in 2011 in which state Republican leaders met in a hotel room and redrew borders according to Boehner's demands. Rollofthedice posted:When was the longest time a presidential candidate for either party led in the polls despite not being nominated? My mistake! The latest is actually Robert Taft in the 1952 Republican Primary. Earl Warren also achieved more popular support than Thomas Dewey in 1948. McDowell posted:Back when those Congressman made their letter to the Ayatollah telling him the USA cannot negotiate in good faith I wrote a brief letter to Senator Booker supporting the Nuclear Deal and recommending that the US should re-evaluate its relaionship with the Israeli nuclear program. A couple days ago I get a very long form response talking about technical details of the deal and why Cory is reluctantly supporting it. Then he starts talking about the Holocaust and how we must 'stand against evil' Your congressman never saw your letter. The response was almost certainly a template assembled weeks in advance, using the Congressman's public statements, and sent out by an unpaid intern, who made sure that there were no obvious copy issues. EDIT: Googling that quote brings up an op-ed by Brooker from September. They probably sent you a copy of it. QuoProQuid fucked around with this message at 19:40 on Nov 20, 2015 |
