FOURTH WAVE LESBRO posted:Is it a good idea to take mini-mester classes (ie 4 weeks, one 3 credit class counting as full-time) while using the Post-9/11? I know just from a get your degree as fast as possible standpoint it's obviously better, but I'm considering my options to see if it's in the cards to stretch the blood money and go for a PA program (90% are graduate-level, a few undergrad left) without taking a ruinous amount of loans for grad school. i took interim courses every chance i could, just as a way to bang out stupid classes i didnt want to sit through for a semester. an online intro to theater course to count as my arts elective. a 2 week public speaking course where every speech is improvised. poo poo like that, you bang em out quick, get the credit, and only have to sit next to a 400 lb blob wearing the same anime t-shirt every day for 2 weeks instead of a full semester

Sir Lucius posted:Am I correct in that the M. GI bill would actually be better than the post 911 in my case? Here is how my tuition works: there are certain cases where the GI is better than the post 911, but it's few and far between. go with whatever gives you more fat stacks of taxpayer cash to blow on video games and weed

Kawasaki Nun posted:For all online its a fixed rate IIRC. For me 6 credit hours would be half time which gets BAH but I assume its different for you. Sounds like the MI GI bill might be better but I'd go over everything in detail with your schools veteran services people and certifying official to make sure all the details are correct. i thought you could switch from GI bill to post 9/11, but not back that might have been when it first started up

MancXVI posted:Also, there's no shame in having some downtime between getting out and starting school. I had almost four months between getting out and starting school, kind of gave me a chance to clear my brain. Traveled around a bit, visited friends and family I hadn't been able to see, that sort of deal. yeah seriously. i had to take a lil time off one semester so i got a second job at radio shack to pay off some stuff you just got out, it's perfectly 100% ok to take a semester off while you ground yourself and plan for the future

Gooble Gobble posted:My VA claim for my back was just completed after only something like 2 months, which was surprisingly quick from what I was expecting. I sort of got screwed over by the C&P examiner on the range of motion test. The thing is I'm not exactly keen on submitting an appeal and wait just for the chance of the same thing happening again. Would it be better to wait a while (and have regular visits with DR/ortho in the mean time) then maybe apply for an increase while having one of them fill out a DBQ? your best bet would be to talk to someone at DAV or the like and have them work with you on the appeal. what'd you get rated as?

Realtalk get on Facebook groups after the shower to finish up getting what you need. People have garbage bags full of baby clothes to get rid of and millions of unused baby toys and cribs and poo poo, it's insane to pay full price for most of that stuff Also helpful for car seats- salvation army and places like that won't resell baby carseats.
