i sent him an email with some questions:

When writing comics, do you tend to have the whole story planned out before you start writing them or do you add things as you go?

Thank you very much. The story is planned out in broad strokes. Significant changes to the characters are planned out. Less important things happening in individual storylines might or might not be planned out. Action sequences are often not planned out before I get to the storyline.

With the Last Cupcakes storyline I knew from the start that Audrey and Lyndon would betray Trixie. I knew there's be 3 cupcakes, that the first time Audrey destroys one we would not see it, the second we'd see it and the third Lyndon would see it. I knew there would be a gravity spell and zombies and that at some point Audrey would fall sideways onto zombies and kill them. Beyond that i didn't know much until I started writing the storyline.

I don't think it's that hard to keep a story short, if you plan it out. If you have too many ideas, just focus on the best ones and ditch the rest.

When updating Trixie, did you tend to draw the comic right before it updated, or did you have a backlog?

When I start a comic I'll have at least a ten strip backlog. The backlog tends to grow over time.

What do you use to draw the comics?

I use a wacom tablet and a program called paint.net. I used to use Microsoft Paint, not recommended.

Is there a new comic planned?

I have ideas for more comics, but I'm not entirely sure if I'll make more. Probably, but not soon.
