IFLS started out decent, as someone who just wanted to share cool science stories. Then it turned into "click my blog!" because she realized she could make tons of cash, got click-baity as a result, and now just pander to smug dickwads who think they're superior over everyone else because they worship DeGrasse Tyson and Sagan like good Redditors do. On top of that, it gets interspersed with crap health stories like all pages eventially do to generate more clicks and shares. I think I unfollowed a good two years now and ended up blocking it because so many friends were sharing the worst articles.

It seems so bizarre to me because my husband at 6' has had no issue with me as a 5'7" girl wearing heels or not. Some heels I've owned made me ever so slightly taller than him, or sometimes I wore flat soled shoes, but it didn't matter since we loved each other as people, not as props or something. I don't know. Our comparative height dimensions meant nothing. Honestly it needs to be something that doesn't matter.

I sometimes post heartwarming links about people doing good things for refugees and I get a couple people rant about "WHY NOT HELP HOMELESS" so I just respond with links to all the resources, strategies, and programs there are to help the homeless. Because we are and it's often extremely successful. They just don't seem to understand that it's not an overnight fix and a bunch more money won't do poo poo to solve the actual issues that lead to homelessness and poverty. If they keep at it I'll just respond with "Homelessness is the result of rampant capitalism and the only way to eradicate it is through full communism. So let's get started, comrade"

Some Conservative Alberta tears were requested, so here we go I like the blurb at the bottom. The oilsands industry only plants trees because the government forces them to; reclamation promises are part of the deal that allows them to rip up the land in the first place.  The response of the reasonable person is amazing. I can't find any more at the moment, but I also don't feel like searching back through days of Facebook material.  This group used to be public, but I think it's now closed after the assassination threats posted there against the premier.
