I haven't delved into it but from what I understand he holds a copyright for the character, so he can veto projects, but he doesn't actually control the uh, right to option, I don't know what the official terminology is because IA definitely NAL. So I don't know if he's legally entitled to profits or if those go to the other person, although I guess they probably have some sort of understanding/agreement so chances are higher than the initial estimated 0%.

Hopefully some lurker turns out to be an expert on copyright law and helps me out here
